Re: Warren vs. Marietta Wed.
Jackson has played a TVC Schedule, Warren and Marietta have played good schedules IMO, I wish they both would have played my Lady Cats in the regular season. If Warren beats Jackson, Warren would be 2, Jackson 3. Marietta is the 1.
Re: Warren vs. Marietta Wed.
If Jackson beats Warren Saturday, the #1 seed goes to Jackson. If Marietta can beat Dover Saturday, a tough task, then they would be 2nd seed. Fairfield Union gets #3 seed with 2 losses. Then does Warren get #4, #5, or #6 seed if South Point and Athens hold at 4 and 5 losses? If Marietta gets #2 and Warren gets #3 or #6, then they couldn't play a 4th game of the season until the regional final. If Marietta gets #1 and Warren gets #3, or Marietta gets #2 and Warren gets #4 or #5, then they could meet in a district final. Big games to play before Sunday will affect it, as will politics in seed voting which can make the seeds unfair according to what would be fair placement. I'm glad to see the cross mixing with Adena when there are still 8 teams left.Ironman92 wrote:Does this seal the #1 seed for Jackson?
Re: Warren vs. Marietta Wed.
Do they actually consider SOS? Lol They sure don't in the boys! League affiliation trumps all. Marietta was shorted in the volleyball seedings....will being out of the league affect the basketball seeding? Not saying it will or should.

And I believe that the D4 team(Rosecrans) defeated the D1 team(Zanesville) in their rivalry game!ohiobaseball25 wrote:Marietta's losses have been to the #6 team in DIV and the #13 team in DI if I'm not mistaken.

Probably will, that's the classic unfairness!Ironman92 wrote:Do they actually consider SOS? Lol They sure don't in the boys! League affiliation trumps all. Marietta was shorted in the volleyball seedings....will being out of the league affect the basketball seeding? Not saying it will or should.

Rosecrans is a very impressive team. IMO Marietta deserves the 1 seed but what does my opinion really matter?mhs95_06 wrote:And I believe that the D4 team(Rosecrans) defeated the D1 team(Zanesville) in their rivalry game!ohiobaseball25 wrote:Marietta's losses have been to the #6 team in DIV and the #13 team in DI if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Warren vs. Marietta Wed.
At one time in the game tonight, Marietta led 28-26 and both Brown and Dawson having 14 points, both with 2 treys and 4 deuces! Those two scored all the Marietta points in the 1st half, and ended up with 47 of the 64 points(31 and 16). After Warren scored the first points of the 3rd to take a 31-30 lead somebody else scored for Marietta, a trey by Cozzens, followed quickly by a trey by Barton to get the lead back to 5. Foul shooting was an issue for the Tigers tonight as they were only 5/16 until Dawson made her last two with 21 sec left in the game. Dawson went from 15/15 two games ago to missing 3 of her first 4 Monday, to missing 5 of her first 6 tonight. But her 3 treys in a row early in the 4th qtr and a trey from Lain Weppler got the lead up in good shape.
Warren's Emma Ryan has really become authoritative in the post and is playing well. Warren missed Rauch, who scored 20 against Jackson, who did not play. Brooks nailed a couple big treys, and Ullman played well.
Warren had 24 FG with 3 of them being treys and were 9/15 from the line, while Marietta had 23 FG with 11 of them treys. I'm thinking that Warren's FG % was substantially better since they had less shots due to all their turnovers. Marietta's recipe for wins, that saturation shooting method by getting way more shots than their opponents, may bring their season to an end when a team can keep from turning it over against them, like Rosecrans did in the 2nd half in Marietta, the Tigers last loss before Christmas, 13 games ago. I saw more of what I saw earlier in the season tonight that I think is not good, throwing up shots to be getting them up without really concentrating too much on trying to make that particular shot!

Tigers #1
if Jackson beats Warren thats has them 1-1----a pair
and Marietta has three of a kind--3-0

I think you are probably right about the seeding. As far as who has the better team that is why they play the game.gobrowns wrote:Marietta should be #1 seed. They are a better team than Jackson.

I'd give 20 bucks to the person that can find if Ms. Dawson also owns the missed shot record at MHS!

Michael Jordan missed a lot of shots too. Not saying she is that good, but usually the best player on the team takes the most shots.

I'd just like to know, i know she's the best and should shoot the most but 32 is a bit much for me. I cant imagine that the other "stars" in the area are getting that many, nor did the Ross girl when she was there.

Re: Warren vs. Marietta Wed.
Not sure why the folks from Marietta AND Vinton County show so much negativity towards their teams? The Vikings are on the verge of winning a TVC-Ohio title and Marietta is (15-3) - and just earned the No. 1 seed in what I think may be the toughest sectional ever.distance40 wrote:I'd give 20 bucks to the person that can find if Ms. Dawson also owns the missed shot record at MHS!
All season long I have seen negativity coming from these topics - why not try and throw some 'positive' feedback towards the girls as we head down the stretch here?
