Re: Division II Sectional @ Alexander
As stated above it is hard to use max preps because complete schedules are not included. Fairfield Union beat Sheridan by 11 at Sheridan yet they are ranked lower than Sheridan. I know it is hard to judge based on 1 game but Fairfield Union is 15-2 and Sheridan is 9-9 with Fairfield Union winning the head to head battle yet Sheridan is higher ranked hmmmm.
Re: Division II Sectional @ Alexander
Just a guess
Jackson beats Warren their #1---A loss and their #3 With the Tigers at the 1---Warren wins and their a 2 and Jackson a 3, with the Tigers at the 1
FU will be haunted by it's loss to Logan and the fact that "one is the loneliest number"
SP won't be able to shake it's loss to Athens
Athens will have to wear Morgan around it's neck
Jackson, Marietta, can each make a very strong case for #1
Warren in a perfect world will be seeded below Marietta (who beat them 3 times)--If Warren beats Jackson they'll argue that 3 of their 5 losses were to Marietta
South Point will have that "cold lonesome feeling"
Athens strongest argument is that both of Horsley's assistants are good looking.
So Here goes: Mari., Jackson, Warren, F.U., Bulldogs, and South Point--With a dangerous VC and Generals lurking in the weeds.
This sectional will have nine out of eleven teams with double digit wins!!!

Re: Division II Sectional @ Alexander
Sooooooo, your saying if Wayne takes his two assistants with him to the draw they will have a better chance at a high seed? lol
Do they need to wear mini skirts too?
Wonder if the other coach voting isn't a guy? i.e. Amanda Dalton for NY?
Maybe Wayne can just smooth her over with his charisma and good looks as well ...

Re: Division II Sectional @ Alexander
On a serious note: Athens HAS won 8 games in a row (and havn't lost since returning from their trip to Florida where they went 1-2 versus some stout competition.)
Included in those 8 wins was Logan, Groveport-Madison, Vinton County, Wellston and Nelsonville-York ... Not a bad resume heading into the draw tomorrow.

What now ??
Mariettta loses to Dover
Jackson loses to Warren
Top 4 is a toss up
IMO Marietta and Warren will try to stay away from each other
Fairfield Union or Marietta #1 & #2
Warren # 3
Jackson # 4
Athens # 5
Vinton County # 6
South Point # 7
Sheridan #8
New Lex # 9
Gallia # 10

Agree^^^
Can't see FU getting any love to go past Warren or Jackson

Re: Division II Sectional @ Alexander
Marietta's tournament run will end early if they dont start playing team ball. Throwing the ball toward the basket 50 times a game instead of looking for open teammates will not be effective against these better tournament teams
Re: Division II Sectional @ Alexander
Who are these teams? It worked against Warren 3 times....what teams in the district are better than Warren?...or provide better matchups?

Re: Division II Sectional @ Alexander
With Sheridan winning last night ... 8-of-the-10 teams now are in double digets in wins ... The Alexander sectional looks more like a district bracket with all the quality teams.

I think Marietta, Warren, Jackson, and Gallia all vote
1. Marietta
2. Warren
3. Jackson
4. Fu
But I don't think that's how Fairfield Union, Sheridan, and New Lex will vote. South Point, Athens, and Vinton County will all have there agenda's too as they might be trying to match up with a certain opponent based on what seed they think they will end up at

then I think it was 5 Athens, 6 South Point, 7 Sheridan, 8 Vinton,9 New Lex, 10 Galia.

Looks like it could be another Jackson-Marietta clash two games into the tourney, just like last year, but this time for a district championship rather than a district semi-final.

Re: Division II Sectional @ Alexander
Usually in a 9-team bracket - the 8 plays the nine and you are left with exactly 8 teams ... 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7 and so on.
But there is 10 teams in this sectional ... How does that work?
