Peebles@Fayetteville 12/22

Post by imrightyourwrong »

Cant Believe this game isnt being talked about at all. Could possibly be the best game of the year in girls basketball in SHL play. These are the two most talented teams in the SHL. Im gonna go with peebles, I just think there starting five is all around better than fayettevilles. But peebles has no bench play at all. Whats everyone else think?

I think Fayetteville has been beating the begeezus out of everyone by ridiculous margins.

I'll assume Fayetteville is guard loaded and presses well.

At Fayetteville....I'll take Fayetteville by 16

Can't take much from this but Peebles beat Lynchburg by 13 and Fayetteville beat them by about 30, though their huge run came without Laney Lewis in for LC.

I know how good Peebles is, this will tell me more about the Lady Rockets....who seem to be about as good Eastern Meigs or Waterford.

Fayetteville by 10. Two very talented teams but Fayetteville is rolling right now and no one has really given them a game yet.

I honestly do not know who has an answer for Fayetteville right now. Peebles is a good team, but I just don't think they can match up with Fayetteville. I will take Fayetteville by 8 on this one.

If that is true they will be in for a DEEP tourny run. Not sure how the southwest tourny is talent wise this season but they would probably go to state if they went through the southeast. I'm also curious about their division. I'm thinking they are D4 but I'm not positive. Who knew they would be this good at the beginning of the year.

They are division III. Can't remember if they met Gtown in tourney last year or not. Holiday tournies may be a preview of tournament play down the road. Will be interesting.

It may not be too early to start shining up the gold ball for the Lady Rockets. I don't see anyone in the SHL beating them this year. There may not be a team that can stay within double digits of them.
I really thought Peebles would give them a better game.

I can't believe 132 girls is D3. D3 goes all the way down to 120. Fayetteville was always a smaller SHL school. Not being D4 is a huge factor but they might be Oak Hill level.

Starting a football program must've added a decent number of students, seems weird but might be the difference between D3 and D4.

A football program wouldn't have anything to do with girls numbers, unless some football players have sisters who also enrolled in school at Fayetteville. Some schools could be Division III in girls and Division IV or Division II in boys. I was thinking Fayetteville was Division IV and am very surprised to see what Ironman92 mentioned about Division III in girls going all the way down to 120. That will definitely hurt them going to the southwest district and being Division III instead of Division IV.

They are just 13 girls over. A few football move in sisters, maybe a cheerleader for football....and just some move ins in general.

Seems like before they had football their numbers were down around 100 each for boys and girls.

Is Georgetown still d3? Not only will that be a great Brown County Holiday Tourney Final but could be a matchup in the tournament in late February.

Yes, Gtown is Div III. If Eastern and Gtown would have gone deeper in tourney play last year they would have seen each other in either the elite 8 or the final four in division 3.
