Hopefully, Great Guy. Just hope the girls want to turn it around. I'm getting tired of hearing that the Coach is the blame for the girls being bad. With some of the attitudes the girls have coach K would struggle to coach this same group.

Agreed CC34. If you were at the game last night, however, you would know that these girls are ready to turn this program around. West JV won, only playing one half, and West Varsity lost by about 6 in DOUBLE OT! I have seen many Portsmouth West girl's basketball games in my day, and the effort and heart I saw last night was the best I've seen in a while. Good Luck girls/coaches...you are making Portsmouth West fans very proud.

No, their main guard is Christin Graf and she had at least 20 against Waverly...she's a junior.

Maynard is hands down the best girls basketball coach I've seen at West in many years. It's good to see the program going in the right direction with someone who can coach these girls.

If West can slow down Portsmouth's post presence, they can come away with the win tonight. Good luck to them!

Yes I was at the game monday night and they did show alot of heart, and they are starting to show it this year. The last couple of years the girls just didn't care, it was just something to do while they wasn't doing anything or while softball wasn't going on. I just wish the girls every year would be dedicated to turn this program around because yes we do have the girls and athletes to do it. I have heard the Junior High girls are very solid, so I hope all of them girls stick to and bring their winning mentality to the high school level. I will be there every home game forsure and on some road games rooting the girls on just hopeing that this program gets turned around. I would give up one of my legs to see this and the boys programs get turned around at West. I love the game of basketball and I didn't get to root for much winning while I was in high school. Our school lives for football, and I'm glad we have a solid football program but I just wish our school lived for every sport.
