Clay and Notre Dame are the cream of the crop in the soc 1 and I think Clay might be the best overall.

It appears to be a four team race right now: Eastern, Clay, ND, and SV. Eastern had a bad first half against ND, but the second half (and the preview against Oak Hill) showed what they are capable of doing, so they remain a favorite. Clay dominated Western from the opening tip, but Western wasn't a good test for them. Tonight @ Symmes Valley will tell whether the Vikings are going to make some noise in the league or be middle of the pack. A strong win by Clay will essentially make it a three team race with Eastern at a slight disadvantage after their early loss to Notre Dame. As of right now I think Clay has the ball handlers and shooters to make them the team to beat, but ND has the best post player in the area and Clay hasn't been tested yet. We'll know more after tonight. It's going to be an interesting and fun season.

Symmes Valley will be missing their Starting guard tonight against clay. Hayes went out early in the game
against East. Not heard if she will be ready or not for tonights game. It will make a difference in scoring since she leads in scoring.
Hope to see her on the court. If not Im sure Walker has made adjustments accordingly. Good luck to the Lady Vikes!

From watching the scrimmage Saturday, she is Not recovered all way. No where near as good as she was last year. Hopefully she can step it up.
I know personally that Curley has recovered about 95%, but not so much mentally. She's is more worried about reinjuring her knee instead of just playing. Hopefully she will overcome her mental block, but I still see her being the top point guard in the area IMO. At the previews she still shows that she's tops in ball handling and passing.

Clay and Eastern are going to be the teams to beat. Green and Western lost too much from last season to be real competitors for the SOC 1 Title. I have yet to see Eastern and East play but from what I've been reading, these teams will give Clay the most trouble. Clay lost Hempill as a dominant post player but still have length in Pelfrey, Whitley, and Redding. Spriggs is back from a knee injury as well but will be a huge contributor along with Jenkins. Curley and Spriggs will have a difficult time with being fully confident in their bodies with all the cutting that comes with basketball.

Good Luck to all the girls this season!
That's funny forget ND and NB and they seam to be the early front runners! Lol

4-2 I think.
They have lost to Clay and Eastern.
They havent faced Notre Dame yet.
These girls are getting better every game. They
are learning something with every outing.
Hayes will be back after the Holiday break and she will
come back to a new and improved team. Cant wait
to see it all come together for the Lady Vikings!!
GOOD LUCK!!!!!

ugly game by both teams, clay didn't bring anywhere near their A game and we didn't either. Wins are great but at what point will poor play catch up with us ? To attempt to convey I'm not being overly negative I'd say we were less than 50% from the FT line and turned the ball over approaching 30 times. Had a 19 or 20 point lead carved to 10 in the fourth . IMO both teams played terrible. Better get it together , Raceland on sat is a big challenge . MD

(Clay at ND)
Had to look this up because our local paper didnt have any details on this game nor
was it posted on preps.
Wow that is a lot of turnovers...
What seems to be going on with Clay?
Im not seeing the Clay that was suppose to be the TEAM to beat this
year. Dont get me wrong ....they have the athletes and they have the ability
so maybe something within the team they need to work out?

Do you think NDs defense had anything to do with clay struggling.? Seen ND play twice now and they play pretty hard.

cons-- No, and yes they play plenty hard. We did have a couple kids playing sick, but the previous home game against Green was not a well played game either.

As far as Clay's struggles my guess is they miss the big girl in the middle awfully bad. MD

Holly!!
How could I forget!!
Yes...she was tough underneath...
So I take it Clay is struggling to get those easy shots underneath and
taking shots from outside the paint

ND falls to Raceland 51-31 . ND plays well in the 1st half but falls apart in the 2nd. only 25-20 at the half , but raceland hit a looong 3 at the buzzer going into half time. Seemed to give them momentum going into the 3rd quarter. They hit a couple 3's in the 3rd and pulled away for a large win. ND only scores 11 in the 2nd . Raceland's size played alot into that. they are huge inside and solid at the guard postions also. MD
