Jackson 51
Warren Local 44

Final

Great finishing minutes by the girls.

The upper hand is now ours for the league title. I thought they were too pumped up from the screaming huddle to the 45 second mark of the 4th quarter. Swished 3's were now air balls...80% free throws turned into 50%. it was a huge game and they battled through everything and achieved their goal.

Two guys were tossed from Warren....I think they yelled about our player shooting a free throw after a couple Warren girls were fouled but didn't get to the line.....quite honestly I'd rather had those two guys reffing the game. This was a huge matchup between two of the top teams around and these guys called everything from the opening tip. I'm not sure Poe or Ryan played 15 minutes. Every game we've been in physical games where the refs let you play and don't call much....not tonight.

Jackson missed 3 games worth of free throws.

We would've had some folks on our side tossed when Poe fouled out with 4:45 left in the game...but we must've had close to 1,000 fans on our side and most were yelling.....impossible to stand out.

Great win for the Ironladies. They certainly left almost 15 points at the free throw line tonight, but they simply found a way to beat a very good Warren team on a night when things weren't going well offensively. I think both teams may have been a little too amped up for such an important game.

Ridout sat for much of the 1st half due to foul trouble, but she got the job done in the 4th quarter, especially after Poe fouled out. As Ironman92 said, Poe and Ryan were definitely limited by the officiating. They had 9 fouls between the two of them, and more than half of those were pretty awful calls in my opinion.

12-0 sounds really good right now. Now the Ironladies need to win for me on Monday, right 93bulldog? :122245

Uh, if you feel like paying up after the game - we can just head on over to BW3's and watch the national championship game ... lol

since you'll owe me 2 ... I'll be really cool about the situation - and allow you to pay for I92's dinner as well - and then we'll be even.

:)

Lol. I love B-Dub's, but Ironman92 is right. I'll pass on going there the night of the National Championship game.

It might be hard for me to make it to the game on Monday at all. Will it be on the radio?

No problems ... I'm not going anywhere ... I02 is more than welcome to hook me up during tourney time at the Convo.

I would say the night of the DII boys district games ... but I'm sold on the idea of the Ironmen geting their.

:)

the game won't be on the radio on our end ... maybe a Jackson station might cover it.

I usually take claims of "bad officiating" with a roll of the eyes and with a grain of salt. But tonight was not well officiated especially from the rogaine/combover/hair transplant lol gentlemen that blew his whistle more than the other two combined, inserted himself into the game, and didn't allow a single trip down the hardwood without a call. Legit poorly officiated for both teams.

Congrats to the Ironladies for winning ugly, need to get some of those in the W column.

The senior Jenkins girl has a calming effect on the entire squad when things get a little tight and plays a huge role with that I am noticing more and more. When Poe falls out to night and Warren goes up by one she hits a nice couple shots and some good defensive play. Shout out to her on job well done tonight.

The Jenkins girl has faced numerous big moment pressures over the years and I've had the privilege of coaching or help coaching many of them. She's ready for the moment. Been there, done that.

Kari is definitely a leader out there. She's always talking and making sure everyone is on the same page.

She and Ridout really made some big plays in the 4th when things got tough. After Warren made the four-point play to go up 34-30, Ridout took it right to the rim, got the bucket and the foul, and got things settled back down. I thought that was a huge moment in the game.

And critically necessary....it was a long spurt without anyone attacking

Congrats to the Ironladies. Nothing like coming together when a big player fouls out.

Congrats to the Jackson girls on their big win at Athens. Also their current rankings in the state. Good teams win on the road and when challenged.

Jackson 34
Unioto 30

Half

Unioto shooting about 75% from 3 and Jackson not shooting well.

Another battle. Coach Walburn has been on mental toughness....they need to show it again tonight.
