I'm just full of dumb questions but anyway... Eastern Reedsville is not Eastern Meigs --two diff' teams right ? one of the two is tradionally very strong right ?

and continuing on the search to get informed would an ND and Clay meet again in their possible district semi or final or does the remaining two teams from the NW area play or draw from the top two remaining teams in the athens area ? or another way of phrasing the question -- does 1 team come out of each area or two ? thanks MD

Eastern pike is playing pretty good ball right now, much improved from earlier in the year . Not good enough to challenge a Waterford but might surprise some people , well coached team. MD

No Reedsville Eastern and Eastern Meigs is all the same team. Yes they are very strong this year. Theres not another team outside of Waterford that could beat them. The District Final is set Reedsville Eastern will play Waterford for the District Championship. There is no one that will come within 20 points of either team.

2 TEAMS COME OUT OF THE DISTRICT!!! EASTERN DEFEATED WATERFORD LAST SEASON IN THE REGIONAL SEMI-FINALS UP IN PICKERINGTON.

The same could happen again this year (Eastern playing Waterford in the regionals) ... Since they are in the same sectional - they end up being matched up against the top 2 seeds from the other sectional (Northwest)

(i.e.) Last year: Eastern played Manchester at the Convo, then Portsmouth Clay in the district championship - to advance to the regionals.
(i.e.) Last year: Waterford played Paint Valley at the Convo, then Notre Dame in the district championship - to advance to the regionals.

Only one team makes it to regional this year Bulldog. According to the brackets on the southeastern ohio district board Waterford will play Eastern for the District Championship. Last year 2 winners from the southeast district made it to the Regionals, they switched it this year. Sorry but thats how it shakes out this year. I feel bad for the Northwest Sectional. The SEctional Champions have Eastern and Waterford waiting for them.

I am amazed at such 'wholesale' changes that occur from year-to-year ... Not only are you right about the districts - they don't even get to play at the Convo either? Last year - they got two games at the Convo and we got to send two reps to the regionals ... This year - the girls don't get to play in the Convo and we only send one team ... What a bummer!

Being a big fan of both Waterford and Eastern - I "HOPE" you are correct ... lol ... But I can't go as far as to say it is 'automatically' set ... I remember watching a game at the Convo with my dad years ago when a sub-par Belpre team (I believe it was Belpre) upset an undefeated team by running the 'STALL!' ... I have only seen it run to perfection once in my lifetime - but it did in fact work ... Belpre was supposed to lose by 30 or more - but ended up winning like 28-26 or something.

Is it possible for Eastern/Waterford to lose - perhaps.
Is it likely they willl lose - probably not.

What is the scoop on Waterford? Eastern Reedsville, dont they have that sophomore that can flat out play? I am glad to see that some people just think it will be a cake walk, the thing about basketball is that everyone has a shot to win in the tournament, every year you have upsets so dont count on a district championship just yet. South Webster plays all D3 schools in their conference play, and at the beginning of the season gave a great Oak Hill team all they could handle in the first 2 qtrs...yes they lost, but that was a tough Oak Hill team. Eastern Pike has girls that hit the boards so you just cant count on a walk thru. Agree the Northwest sectional is weak, it is amazing that somehow Eastern Pike and South Webster gets shipped all the way too Meigs....but in all what is the deal with Waterford? Looks like they have a great record?

Enjoy your "domination" while it lasts TVC fans. I can't wait until one of your "district-championship-is-already-in-the-trophy-case-in-January" teams gets a little scare from one of the "weak" SOC teams so you'll stop with all this smug boasting.

When was the last time an SOC 1 school made it to regionals. Eastern and Waterford have been mainstay top team in the district for several years.

One - I don't see much "smug boasting" on here, so if you want to take whatever your perception is, stick it in your incubator, and let it warm up until the SOC takes the helm, well, have at it.....

Like it or not, Waterford and Eastern are the teams to beat. Beat them, then you can talk.

Just to put it into perspective ... And I don't want to sound smug either - I don't even live anywhere close to Waterford or Eastern.

But South Gallia (the 4th best team in the TVC-Hocking) already beat Symmes Valley 55-16.
(Eastern crushed South Gallia 81-36)

I know Symmes isn't the elite team in the SOC I - but its the only thing I could find to show some sort of relation between the two leagues.

Funny, I've don't think I've ever seen Eastern Meigs or Waterford play in a state tournament game before, but I have poor little Portsmouth Clay
