Once again our free show shooting cost us the game. Don't know what we can do to get better at this. I know the coach has them spend a lot of time on this. Believe it or not there could have been alot more than 51 fouls called on Meigs, that's the only way they could stop our guards driving to the basket.

How?
Its been pretty quiet in terms of upsets all year ... I had a feeling we were do for one (boys or girls) - but man, I didn't think for a second it would be that big of one ... A (2-8) team beating a team that was 6-1?
Yes it's an upset. But, I have seen Wellston play and was not that impressed. Meigs is down too. Wow. Was this at home too. How does that happen? One thing that rarely does happen is being upset in the TVC at home. Tough road games in the TVC. May it be just because of the road or BAD refs. Hate to say that though. Well congrats to Meigs.

I'd say Symmes Valley had more team fouls than they did points last night (only scored 25 or 27 points in the game ) The level of play is so bad and the players so inexperienced it just makes for difficult basketball to watch. Our team was 5-12 from the free throw line and turned the ball over more than a dozen times in the 1st half ....... and still had a ten point lead at the half. it is what it is I guess . MD

Correction score Waterford 65 Trimble 17 I got the original score from WTAP, but box scores from Marietta Times and Parkersburg News both show 65-17.

ManitouDan, Inexperienced, yes. 3 sophomores start for SV, they are playin the season without returning leading scorer and in a new system this year. What I don't think they need is to read that the level of play is so bad it's difficult to watch. The SV kids or the Notre Dame kids either one dont need to read that. Both groups gave effort and played hard last night.

never ever had a problem with effort. Dont insinuate that. We have lots of experience , tons of it. So I'd like to see us not turn the ball over so much . Honestly and bluntly I had hopes we could could equal or improve upon's last years great run. I actually think we should compete , maybe not beat , but at least be competitive with a waterford or eastern . IMo we have the atheletes to do it. So far (with plenty of time left ) we played a solid game in our opener at Eastern and have not played as well since . that was ten games ago.
IMO it does atheletes a dis-service to play the Ol " you played hard " tune when they don't play smart. Playing hard without playing smart just looks like chaos. It didn't help ther refs called a very tight game. best of luck to SV the rest of the way, if you follow this forum you would know i like their program and respect their coach quite a bit. MD

Did you really just hint at "BAD refs", when Wellston got beat shooting 51 foul shots? Give me a break! That is a joke!!!!!!
