as a casual fan i attend a few girls games and a few boys games during the year and try to keep up using the logan daily news. as i read the ldn today i thought to myself, when does a coach start thinking about next year? i read all these write-ups about how the jv team plays team ball and racks up all these assists and have a perfect record while the varsity it seems according the paper just cant get it going with the players they have now and have a losing record. when do you say, well, i have these younger players that will be with the program for another two and a half years and instead of possibly wasting the rest of the season, i better let these jv players get used to playing some varsity competition and build up to next year. if nothing else it might light a fire under some of the current varsity players. im just thinking out loud and would like some productive discussion on whether im out of my tree or not. again, not trying to start some war of words, just trying to have some legit discussion.

sns,
you do bring up a valid point but it might a week or two too early. your point about lighting a fire is very valid though imo.

LoganBB: IMO I think it is premature to throw in the towel on this years varsity team. I see a trend in the coaching to look at different players based on how the game is progressing and what is needed on offense or defense. It might help to bring up some JV players to dress for the varsity but no way would I move anyone up permanently. The jv players are getting great experience where they are and they will bring that with them next year. The five players I would play first in any rotation would probably be just some of those in that postion now. The coach sees these girls everyday in practice and of course is in a much better position to make this decision. The ladies still have nine games left in the regular season and we will see some good basketball.

Wow Logan Grad. I have not not said one negative thing about the LYBA, go look on the biddy league thread under Make some changes.. If you read that you will see that I have said good things about the lyba, I have not ever criticized Keith Myers or the boys program, Nor Do I care enough about the boys program to question them. I have not criticized any program, Yes I have been sarcastic, but only in response to sarcasm. I have asked questions and gotten jumped on by you, simple things like does the offense match his personnel. Shaken asks if the season should be given up on and prepare for next year and you didnt jump on him. I really don't think I would be able to say anything on here with out getting jumped on. I was actually going to behave myself but I guess I need to grow up some first. Again the sarcasm was lost on you with changing my location.

Logan BB: IMO the Lady Chiefs have a real opportunity to go over .500 for the season in the next four games. Warren Local away then Lancaster and Portsmouth at home and Jackson away coming up. Get over the hump before Zanesville shows up at Jims gym the 28th. I also believe if we work on handling the big girl inside for Zanesville we are the better team. So let us get started Saturday and turn this season around.

GO CHIEFS.
