Ugly night at Meigs. Beginning of the 4th, the queen gets her fifth foul, she goes to the bench and sits down knowing it's her 5th foul, daddy cries on the court, call is reversed and she gets to go to the foul line!!! Knew they wouldn't win in the queen's castle but it was ridiculus. The rudist student section I think I have ever seen, Meigs should be ashamed, but instead, there was a teacher taking pictures of them. Was told it was home court advantage and they could do it. Keep your heads up Lady Eagles! it will get better.

wow those are probably the 2 dumbest statements i have ever heard.
1. the call on catie was obiously a blocking foul and the ref had called it that and said basket counts he just made his signal a little iffy when i motioned it but u could clearly read his lips saying basket counts after he blew the whistle.
2. who cares about a student section that same stuff goes on in every gym across america eastern is just mad because they came into meigs and got a spankin from not only the team but also the crowd advantage. its called school spirit. TRY IT and move on with your lives its just basketball

Lovin, Allow me to correct you. You apparently dont know what happened. The referee's call was never reversed. What appeared by his hand signal as a charging foul against the Meigs player was actually a signal the basket counted and one. Referees sometimes indicate a made basket on a foul by using a clinched fist with a downward motion. They did it all evening tonight.

As far as the cheering section they had down there last night yes every school does it but they do not involve the girls personal life in it...I know on several occassions last night a couple of the Lady Eagles were signaled out and comments were made while they were on the floor...That was down right RUDE!!!!!!!!!!

Back in the old days student sections use to single out star players with signs and other things however if there was cussing or filthy name calling then game administration should have taken care of it. Also, something you failed to mention while we are on the topic of "rude fans" is the adult man flipping our students and crowd off during the 4th quarter. After the fans from meigs clapped for his "adult" behavior (we excused it knowing it was from the eastern crowd) he then motioned as if he wanted to take things outside.Not sure if you eagle fans would consider that rude but that showed the meigs crowd a little about the eagles crowd. Let the Lady Marauders enjoy the well deserved win. Great job to Coach Wolfe and the girls!

Ok, A few things to say. One, I was not at the game, but I know several people, from both sides, that were. Saying that, here is my opinion. SeoBasketballFan, you think getting personal with a kids personal problems while they are playing on the court is ok? I heard about one girl who was dumped the day before, or sometime soon, by a meigs student was being called by his last name every time she had the ball? I don't know if you remember those days of being a teenager, or you may possibly still be one and do not understand, but that plays with personal emotions. I think if a fan is going to heckle a player, it should be about the sport of basketball. "You suck", "Butter Fingers", "Brick", you know, the usual things to say when a player is not having a good game. Since when is yelling "Grades before play" acceptable? Ok, if you want to tell big red to go back to Southern, Fine. Sucks, but fine. That is about the sport. Do you think that just after transferring to a new school, not having the grades the first grade card, is something that the fans should yell out? I know this girl, and am very sure she has been through enough already about that situation herself, without a crowds help. She is there because she is a true lover of sports. Plain and simple. I heard about her mother going to coach, and from what I heard she had a right. Carl had ran his mouth way before ball season about her being fat and slow. Is that what a real coach talks about on his free time? I personally have heard him beg for years to have her come out there. Even as far as letting "Big Red" move to their house till her mom could find a place in the district. So, he don't get his way, now he has to degrade a high school girl? What a man. I am just setting the facts straight. There are things to be said during a ball game, then there are things that are not. If your child had a big honkin mole on her forehead, would it be ok for me to distract her game by calling out "Holy Moley"? Of coarse not. BTW, where is the guy who dated Big Red's mom for all those years when you need him. He would have had a blast in the middle of Meigs stands!

Yea, your coach sure is a class act, NOT! Yelling at some of the Eastern players when they would go by him. He needs to suck it up. He is supposedly an adult and these are teenage girls. And so you loosing at Eastern was because of the refs, give me a break. What are your losses? The ones on the road? Have a hard time winning on the road, but not at home, HMMM? Haha...you guys really are pathetic! this forum is about the athletes. plain and simple, eastern was outplayed... accept the facts and get on with your lives...quit complaining about our fans...girls basketball is the headline...not meigs fans...GROW UP and quit being such sore losers...anything you can find or make up about coach wolfe or anyone else from meigs you guys jump at only to try and blow things completely out of proportion. i am pretty sure he would have loved to have turley on his team and the girls would have to but it was her decision where she went... none of the girls were involved in any of what your complaining about so take this somewhere else...Good job Ladies!

Understand I am here trying to get it through to everyone that what is going on is wrong. These girls play for what? Not money, but the love of the game. Nobody, and I mean nobody has a right to degrade them for anything. Coaches, players, fans..... nobody. If it does not have something to do with the game, it should not be allowed, period. The refs, and coaches should be responsible for this to be under control. This shows the ignorance of everyone. I just found out also that big reds mom didn't confront Carl in the gym, but in the hallway after the game. Come on people, grow up. I am not arguing on here. I am merely trying to get it through to everyone what this game is about. Has the girl that was broken up with ever done anything or acted in a way to deserve humiliation on the court about her personal life? Has big red ever done anything out of the way to anyone? As far as I know not. So, lets just ruin their game and love of the sport. Sounds good doesn't it. Let's make them not want to get back on the court in fear of things being yelled out during the game about their personal problems. Hey, they don't get paid 25 million a year to put up with everyone's schit. So when does the love of the game not become worth the ridicule? Let's hope nobody ruins the players love for the game.
