I agree, Fairland is led by Terra Stapleton a 6'4 JR who has verbally committed to the University of Minnesota. She averaged 21 Points and 13.4 Rebounds as a Sophomore, D3 Southeast District player of the year and 1st Team All-Ohio.

(5-0)

Fairland 63 - Oak Hill 51
Fairland 68 - River Valley 24
Fairland 69 - Gallia Academy 38
Fairland 66 - Meigs 31
Fairland 84 - Greenup CO, KY 54

[quote="run-n-gun"]I don't think you can throw Eastern Pike out that fast. Are they Top 10? Probably not right now. But their close loss to ND to start the season wasnt a bad loss, not even close, considering 75% of the team had less than a week of practice due to volleyball. So, IMO, ND's small-margin win doesn't look quite impressive. Again, my opinion. When do these teams play again? And where?[/quote

Cmon now Eastern Pike is OK . Young , getting better . but not anywhere near top ten in SE Ohio . I personally love the Roney girl , think she is really really good .. like D-1 good .. But they got blew out by Northwest who is going to finish 7th in the 8 team SOC2 ... They were challenged by a young Piketon in a close game and Piketon had 1 or 2 starters out. So , just a flat out NO . They are not top ten ready . Keep in mind no one is calling ND a top ten team either , so I wouldnt hang my hat on that result .. Those two play again at ND in late Jan early Feb .. should be a good one. MD

Fairland hasn't played much of a schedule so far. All you can do is win those games but they need challenged. Beating Oak Hill by 12 is not what it's been in the past.

Eastern Pike cannot be considered on this list if they got blown out by Northwest.

Not very many teams in the district have multiple quality wins. Maybe if we didn't seed our team's in the tourney like we do teams would schedule up a bit to challenge themselves and help them to be tournament tough/ready. I'm not talking about any team or teams this year because we are still less than halfway and I don't know anyone's schedule....but we'll see how it plays out.

Several of the teams havent played anyone that you all have in top 10. Just a joke anyway cause it is a bunch of parents and coaches who decide anonymously on here!lol

I'm not a parent of a player or a coach of girls basketball.

Jackson has wins

@ Eastern Meigs
vs Minford
Neutral site against Shekinah Christian

Those are 3 quality wins for sure.

Still have 2 games with Warren Local and a matchup @Athens to add some more.

Ironman, I was going to say Jackson is probably the one for sure on the list. And the majority of posters are, whether they admit it or not!

Reedsville Eastern played Jackson tough. They beat Waterford by 27 and they just beat a quality Fort Frye team

FU is a quality team, has one of the top players in SE Ohio and play in a very competitive league.

I do agree that they are not Top 10, and not close. I would definitely agree ND would be closer. Just looking though, if, and a really big IF, they finish the season with just those 2 losses, then they could be more considerable. Not saying they will finish with only 2. They do play ND again, which will be a good game. And I also think they do play Northwest and Piketon again. So they have chances to pick up good wins, but also chances to pick up 3-5 losses. But I do agree, they would be lucky to be Top 25 right now. But if they can finish the season strong, they could maybe be considered. Maybe.

Ok, let's say you beat Northwest and Piketon, Northwest is young and are really struggling this year so splitting with them says what about the eagles this year? Especially after losing to them by 28 ( I think). I'm not sure about Piketon but I don't believe they are that strong this year either and Notre Dame has not played as I was expecting them to play this year either. You are looking for consideration among all divisions all teams in the southeast and looking at your schedule past and future I think your asking an awful lot. Top 30 maybe. However, I do wish you luck with the rest of the season.

Fairfield Union is 8-1 with only loss to Logan Elm at Logan Elm 60-56. That place has been a house of horrors for FU. They have a tough week this week with games at Teays Valley home vs Canal Winchester and at Dublin Jerome on Monday. They start 3 sr and 2 so. Unfortunately another sr starter tore her acl in 1st scrimmage this season. They play 4 guards and 1 post. There best wins so far are at Circleville by 15 and at home against Sheridan by 13. Sheridan is decent but not as good as in past years and Circleville knocked off Athens.

My top ten would have to be

1. Jackson
2. Marietta
3. Eastern
4. Fairland
5. Adena
6. Miami Trace
7. Fairfield Union
8. Athens
9. Unioto
10. Warren

Okay, how about I say this. This Eastern Pike team could be one to just keep an eye on as the season progresses.

They aren't Top 10. Not close. I agree 110%.

D4 will be good to watch this year with Reedsville and Waterford both tough, and Webster, ND and Eastern Pike all being good as well. Also got to maybe mention Clay, and watch for Western if they can improve. Not saying Western can beat any of these teams, but they are capable of being somewhat competitive.

I agree with Eastern should be watched the Roney girl is going to be a speacial player and will only get better with the more she plays . Heck she's averageing like 18 pts a game now and is a freshmen . At 6'1 very fast can handle shoot the 3 coach King plays her inside and on the perimeter . They have nice senior guard play and the older Roney sister at 5'11 is a very good player as well hits the boards hard and has a nice 15' jump shoot. The team is starting to round out they had 3 practices before there Notre Dame game cause all the girls play volleyball and made it to the Final 4 . Can they beat Jackson heck no can they be a major factor in D-4 by the end of this season heck ya in D-4 . They are going to be a handful come tourney time.

tourney success may hinder on seeding ... if Eastern Pike can make its way to the No. 3 seed - they would most likely play Waterford and could possibly give them a run in the sectional final ... if they end up as the No. 4 seed - they will have to play Reedsville Eastern - and that is a big challenge. The DIV sectional seeding will be intresting as South Webster (6-4), Eastern Pike (6-2) and South Gallia (7-3) are all right their in the mix behind Waterford and Reedsville Eastern.

For Eastern Pike to make the third seed they would have to be seeded above either Eastern Reedsville, Waterford, or South Webster. Although in these seeding meetings anything can happen, i don't see them drawing anything higher than #4. You also must remember when looking at records that South Webster plays an entirely different class of opponent than Eastern Pike or South Gallia. While Eastern lost to Northwest by 28, South Webster beat Northwest by 20. While Eastern struggled with Clay, South Webster used every girl on the bench including the JV team for a good portion of the fourth quarter and still won by about 40. I think Eastern Pike is going to end up about 4th seed. If Eastern does pull 4th seed and everything else runs as I see it, they will face Notre Dame in the district semi-finals and the winner of that match up will face South Webster in the district final. They could also end up facing Waterford in the district finals but I think it will be South Webster.
