There is no 'Perfect" system---the one we have is probably the best we can hope for. I don't see how anyone else could be very well informed of all the teams. What media covers both South Point and Fairfield Union? Records can be misleading, for example, in the old boys sectional at Athens, Crooksville usually came in with a bad win to loss ratio but had good teams. What we have now is better than the old pills or the way I could vote for you in the third spot and not vote for you again till seventh. Let the coaches state their case and (without a doubt some horse-trading goes on) let them vote their conscience.

A weighted system or power ranking, points based on ur opponents W-L record, their Div. Level and whether u play them @ home or away, a team is rewarded more for playing up a div.,against a team with a good W-L record, on the road, ...less points for lower div. level, or team with poor W-L record or home game.....that way you take the politics out, teams will schedule better and also factor in differences in div. levels...the arguement that Eastern/Waterford Div. III teams playing Div.II teams out of their league is hogwash....ask Div. II teams how tough they were and others to come...in that system Div. II teams would be slightly penalized for playing down a div. but rewarded for wins of those teams (aka very good teams)....or like playing a chillicothe (Div I) with a poor record, more points for playing up a div. level but get few points because of their W-L record, if ur team doesn't get seeded high enough the only one to blame is yourselves for not scheduling better/tougher and not winning, no more of this arguing and trying to figure out on paper who's better

Yeah pretty much, I just think coaches being able to influence their teams seeding is a bit shady, they're gonna do whatever they can for themselves and not what's true or right, that's not what HS sports is all about, it will also improve the quality of games as the tourny rolls on and again it takes this "horse-trading" mentality out of the equation

I bet most coaches could live with that system.

The one thing you could do under current system is to let coaches put themselves on the board wherever they want. Once seeds are determined start with top seed and then go right down the line. Gives a coach a little more control of their own team.

Would love to see the computer system.

1st level points and 2nd level points

Beat a.....

D1= 6.5
D2= 5
D3= 3.5
D4 = 2

Or whatever is fair with some math worked out.....then add in the D2 points from all the wins the teams you beat attained. Yeah....you could schedule cruddy D1 or D2 teams, but you wouldn't get many 2nd level points.

I would love this for everyone.

It will be interesting to see how Marietta plays without Dawson. I know you can't replace a great player like her. i asked the question earlier this year about how good they can be if something like this happened because of how much they depend on her for their points. I don't like to see any player get hurt but it may help them if they can have other players step up now then when she gets back they may be a more balanced team scoring wise.

Looking like Marietta and Warren are destined for that 4/5 game...making a tough district semi for the other sectional #1 seed

IDK I92 ... Fairfield Union is tough - they were ranked #2 in the entire Columbus area (for DII schools) according to the Dispatch coaches poll this week ... I believe they even recieved a first place vote. That's pretty impressive given how many DII schools/teams are in that area.

would love to see Athens get the No. 2 - but they need Fairfield Union to slip up somewhere I think.

Looks like top 6-7 teams in Meigs is tough, anyone of them can win on any given night from the looks of it.
