Logan BB: JV and Varsity both win tonight at Warren. For what it is worth this is quite an accomplishment. Congrats to both these teams. Lancaster next at Jims gym this Saturday the 13th.

Logan v. Lancaster Tuesday night at Jim Myers Gym! Jv at 6 pm Varsity 7:30
Re: Logan BB: 2008-2009 season
Logan BB: The Warren game this past Saturday was a must win for the girls. They played up close to their potential. A win at Warren has been difficult in the past and just maybe Logan has turned the corner. The next three games will get them primed for Zanesville, Ironton and Marietta coming to Jims gym starting the 28th of this month.

Thanks Coach Kennard for preparing 8th grade ball players for the 9th or the JV, or the varsity over these past years!
Re: Logan BB: 2008-2009 season
I guess this would be an ideal time to put out some information. There are seven sophomores (5 on jv) (2 on Var) that began playing together in the 4th grade and continued together thru the 8th grade. During this time they had a combined record of 102 wins with 7 losses. That being the case they were well prepared to play HS ball. The real credit here would be to the girls that dedicated their time and effort to become competitive ball players. In the 7th grade they were joined by a number of girls who also have put their time in the game and it is evident they also are dedicated.

thanks to all of the aau coach's that most of the current sophomore players have been taught by long before 7th or 8th grade. thanks to the parents for having the foresight to get behind your children and get them in programs in the summer where the true learning takes place starting in the 3rd and 4th grade. thank you to the actual players for enduring the antagonistic approach from some of the school coach's who ridicule you for playing summer ball. keep up the good work and never ever let them get you down, you are a special group. it is beyond me why a coach would get on here and make smart-aleck comments about other coach's. role models, yeah right.
thanks to cs for bringing me the pride and joy that i get every time i watch you play.
well said hayseed.

Logan BB: The girls basketball program at Logan is and has been very healthy. Personally I go back a few years beyond the present sophomore class but I follow this group of girls very closely. Every class that passes thru is special in its own way . We are all fortunate to have been a part of it.
GO CHIEFS.
GO CHIEFS.

All of the programs begin with those athletes whose parents are willing to get them involved, willing to take them to the practices, to the games, to the camps, and support those teams and coaches that work with THEIR special athlete or in some cases athletes. It will always be about the athletes themselves. It will be what each one as an individual brings to the game that makes them special. That in turn allows them to become part of THE team. Each player, each coach, each parent, (family member), each administrator, each fan are all a part of the entire program. Lose sight of any one of these important components and the concept of a program goes away. They are all needed for support, for nurturing, for teaching, for learning and most importantly for a solid program.
Take the time to take a look at what THE Logan Lady Chiefs have accomplished over the years and staring you in the face are special athletes, special teams and special coaches. From the smallest of the players to the seniors who are finishing their high school careers you all have watched some extraordinary athletes. They are extraordinary because they have been a part of the Lady Chiefs program.
Maybe it is time to band together as the land of purple and support all of the lady chiefs, young and experienced, those that are just beginning and those that are at the end. They have brought a lot of talent, given of their time, and need our support to be the absolute best that Logan has to offer. Time for all of us to grow up and be the adults we should have been all along.

Logan BB: Varsity and JV both win tonight over Lancaster. Neither Logan team played a very exceptional game. Non league and a win is a win. JV still undefeated. You came thru girls . Keep it going this Saturday against Portsmouth.
Re: Logan BB: 2008-2009 season
AHHH, AAU one of my favorite subjects. First of all, Nagol aren't you forgeting a coach that has been in the system for several years that has also helped prepare the players for JV or Varsity? I think Coach Burns has had a hand in theses players success as well as Coach Kennard. I think the most credit should go to the players themselves. They gave up so much back when they were in grade school to develop their game. The kids that are excelling now have played basketball nine months a year for years. Does anyone honestly think that their development started in 7th grade? Most kids that only play biddy league are lucky to make the school team nowadays. Thank you to all the athletes who gave up so much for the game you love, and thank you to the parents that chose to stand behind their young athlete and allow them to pursue their dreams.
Re: Logan BB: 2008-2009 season
I see the Logan Girls basketball thread has come full circle...once again harping about the fresman coach...I guess some people can never let it go. Crediting any one coach with the success of a particular group of girls is just plain silly. If anyone should be given credit, it would be the parents...absent the support of the parents the likelihood of success is greatly diminished...
I really wish everyone would get over all the the baggage they seem to be carrying around and stay positive for the sake of the kids. Coaching is not easy. Whether it is at the jr. high, freshman, jv, or varsity level it is just not easy. It requires commitment, a love for the game and a strong desire to see young men and women succed....for a change it would be nice to see support, and most of all respect, for all the coaches...regardless of the opinion of anyone this board, they are all deserving.

Big win last night against Lancaster! Back to 500! Portsmouth Sat at noon! Keep the train rolling! Nice job by all who played in the game. Also players and parents should get most of the credit, not all to the coach but some people think otherwise. I thought if that's the way people want to think then give credit to all! It's a big world! It's not about one person but the athletes and the program! If someone wants to blow their horn then set up their own thread so people can comment on that one. This should be about the athletes and their season.
