"Just an inquisitive question. How many hoops varsity programs have male head coaches and how many have female head coaches?
Going to send this out there again, now that school has begun and coaches are starting to look at their programs. I would still like some input from southeastern ohio as to how this plays out in the female high school hoops arena.
Thank you for any info you are willing to share.

Re: Varsity Coaches
Didn't know I was hurting anyone. Just curious is all. Where I come from it is predominately male coaches also. Just wondered how it plays out here. Still a sad statement. Should be more women involved with the female sports, especially if there are some willing to get involved. AND no Nagol1 I am NOT talking about myself. I happen to know of several women who are interested in coaching. They would make great coaches also.

Re: Varsity Coaches
I love coaching, but it does take a lot of time away from my family and finding a balance is very difficult. I'd say many woman find that their talents and skills are needed much more within thier own family. Also, being an implant from central Ohio, I feel like woman's sports aren't supported the way they should be. I feel we take a back seat to every male sport and it irritates me. But, how do you change a culture? I have stuck it our this long because playing in college gave me so many opportunities and athletics has shown me how strong I am. I want my players to know they can pursue their dreams not settle for something. I feel we do I deservice, in some parts in SE Ohio, because we don't teach our girls' that there is life outside this place and they that they do DESERVE to follow their dreams! Just my humble opinion.

Re: Varsity Coaches
lovevball8: I agree with you. I have 3 grown daughters of my own and I tell them and told them that they can do anything they want. They have to want more, and be taught that hard work and determination can get them where they want to go. I am a transplant from Kansas, so I really feel that we need to not only coach the young women to reach for more, but TEACH them that there is more out there.
