Still some big match ups to be played this week but for fun here is my seeding.

1. Jackson Duh
2. Fairfield Union Homer pick
3. Athens Could easily be 2
4. Marietta Will be intersting to see what effect the Dawson injury and prognosis will have. Hope she gets well soon
5. Warren Could flip with Vinton County. Will be a tough out wherever they are seeded
6. Vinton County See above.
7. Sheridan Loss to Nelsonville slides them below Warren and Vinton County
8. South Point Beat Gallia
9. Gallia
10. New Lexington

Listed below are their division 2 ranking on max preps. Rankings are a little skewed because not every game is reported and I believe they update rankings on Monday so last weeks games are not included yet.

17. Jackson
33. Fairfield Union
37. Marietta
42. Athens
47. Warren
68. Sheridan
76. Vinton County
99. South Point
141.New Lexington
152.Gallia Academy

Nelsonville-York is (11-5) - so its not like losing to them is that big of deal ... plus it was the season opener.

But I see where your coming from - every game will have an impact on the perception of a team ... especially a team like Sheridan, who a lot of coaches don't know much about.

Should have clarified Nelsonville is a good team and I agree losing to them is no big deal but Vinton County beat Nelsonville so its hard to put Sheridan ahead of Vinton County. Obviously does not mean Sheridan could not beat Vinton County but when you are trying to figure out seeding every game counts.

The race for the No. 2 seed will be intresting as Athens takes on Oak Hill (12-7), a team which seems to be playing much better lately, Monday ... then plays AT Vinton County (11-7), who have won six straight on Thursday ... followed by a game AT Warren (10-7) next Monday.

pretty tough 3-game stretch for the Lady Bulldogs.

Athens 3 vs, Warren 6. Marietta 4 vs. Vinton 5... Those would be good games

Athens actually plays at Warren on Monday ... will be intresting to see how those two teams match-up ... if Athens was to have an impressive performance - and beat Warren on their home court - a case could be made for Athens to be the No. 2 ... but the lady Bulldogs have a big league title game with Vinton County (11-7), who have won 6 straight games, on Thursday.

Where is the re-match with TV to be played?

i'm listening to the Marietta-Warren game and Dawson is playing. last i read she wasn't supposed to be back until around tourney time. maybe she healed faster after watching the Lady Tigers lose three in a row.

What was Dawson's injury? I heard she was out, but I must have missed what the actual injury was.

i read it was a broken hand or wrist. hope she's not coming back too early and re-injures it. Marietta was 2-4 (i think) without her.

Thanks for the info. Dawson is certainly a difference-maker, so I'm sure Marietta is thrilled to have her back. She has had an outstanding career, so hopefully she's healthy and able to finish out the season.

I believe Sheridan (11-8) had a key player out when they lost to Nelsonville. And it was the first game of the season at Nelsonville HS.
Looking at the schedules, Nelsonville has since lost to 2 MVL schools this season (Morgan and Crooksville). Sheridan has beaten
both Morgan and Crooksville (twice) during the regular season. So I don't see how their first game of season, with a starter out
of the line-up can hold a lot of weight at the draw.

The MVL is a very competitive league this year, plus it is mainly div II schools, unlike the TVC, which is made up of much smaller schools.

New Lexington is another MVL team that I wouldn't look past at Meigs. Very bad record, but a player averaging 26 or 27 ppg, plus a playing
in the MVL. They nearly beat Athens (also early in the season). New lex led most of first have, and ended up losing by 8 or 9. Kind of how
their entire season has been.

MVL standings:
Maysville 16-0 (state ranked Div II)
Tri-Valley 8-5 (Div I or II) they go back and forth every couple years, not sure where they are this year
John Glenn 7-5 (Div II)
Sheridan 8-6 (Div II)
Morgan 7-5 (Div II)
West Mukingum 6-7 (Div II)
Crooksville 5-8 (Div III)
Philo 5-8 (Div II)
New Lexington 0-?? (but have 3 or 4 non-league wins)- (Div II)

Dover.... 19 16 9 12 -- 56
Marietta 10 16 18 14 -- 58

In the last minute Erica Dawson made 1/2 FT to make it 56-53, then Moriah Monaco drained trey with 0:22 left to tie it at 56. Marietta ran the clock down to 0:03.8 and called time-out. On the inbounds play, Dawson missed from the corner, but Kaitlyn Cozzens was fouled on the rebound with 0:00.2 and made both FTs to produce the victory for the Tigers. The Tiger's victory makes their record 12-7 and should seed them no lower than playing in the 4/5 game at Meigs for the chance to advance to the district semis at SE.
