Zane Trace Sectional
Re: Zane Trace Sectional
Logan at home vs Jackson....typically very good.
Chilly took you guys to OT but have lost to Hillsboro and then Athens by 40
In common games Jackson has won a little more comfortably against Greenfield, Westfall and Vinton Co.
We have Circleville at their place Wed for another comparison.

As for Fairfield Union
We played Warren Local the night before and on minimal rest traveled the 85 miles and played at Fairfield Union around noon.
It was a good win.....without Poe

Re: Zane Trace Sectional
not making excuses for the Chilli game, but the flu hit the team that week and some of the starters didn't play hardly any. I think you should be ok vs Circleville. it's always hard to compare these things because some teams improve during the year and some regress. Look at today for example, I was at greenfield and McClain took Clinton-Massie to the wire. I think McClain will do very well in DIII and make it to the district final. I think you guys have Unioto also don't you?
Re: Zane Trace Sectional
I wasn't knocking Jackson because I don't know what the score was. I was just commenting that FU isn't the same team as last year that knocked us out. I know how those back-to-back games can go sometimes. we play our county rival Washington CH tonight and come back tomorrow afternoon and play a good team in the Pickerington Shootout.Ironman92 wrote:As for Fairfield Union

Good luck to you guys! Hopefully we can meet at the district finals and then the best may move on.
Re: Zane Trace Sectional
Really lost in your following schedule, and not saying not a tough schedule, but according to several threads on this forum the following schedules are not even close toeing accurate. I question Athens, Westfall, Minford records, and wonder why you fail to mention several records of teams with that schedule. What is Logan, Warren, Fairfield U, and Vinton County for us?

3. Fairland (Michigan signee 6'5) 13-2
4. Athens 17-0
5. Greenfield McClain 10-4
6. Westfall 12-6
7. Circleville 10-5?
8. Minford 10-5?
9. Fairfield Union regional finalist last year
10. Warren Local x2
11. Logan x2
12. Vinton County
14 very legitimate games
Re: Zane Trace Sectional
What I consider legitimate games. I don't know Warren's record but pretty sure a win over Warren local is a legitimate win. No clue what your are talking about with threads and accurate schedules. Those teams are all scheduled and I even omitted a good 12-2 South Webster team.Pol Pot wrote:Really lost in your following schedule, and not saying not a tough schedule, but according to several threads on this forum the following schedules are not even close toeing accurate. Re: Zane Trace Sectional
You have Minford at 10-5 they are lucky to be .500 and are below .500 in their league. Logan x2 Logan is well under .500 on the SEOAL thread, fairfield as I stated had I believe 2 wins at that time according to Max Preps.

I thought Minford had a better record. Do you know their actual record? I know they only lost by 4 to the Lady Oaks.....we beat them pretty good at their place without Poe.
I still believe wins against Logan are legitimate.
Fairfield Union.....what's their record?
All I do know is that SINCE the Eastern Meigs game Jackson has been either without Poe OR without Jenkins and Speakman. ....those 11 games are nowhere near full strength. At FU after playing the night before in a big game versus Warren and without Poe is a legitimate win....to me. It's my post and opinion.
Hopefully Jenkins can get near full strength, Speakman recover from her ankle injury and Poe be good enough for 3+ quarters at Warren this upcoming week.

Re: Zane Trace Sectional
If Jackson wins out there your one, but if they lose to Athens who knows what will happen in that room! Trace's league is tougher top to bottom than Jackson's and there non leagues schedules are a push in my mind. Both quality teams and are coached well so I would love to see them match up somehow if they make it that far. This sectional is very competitive and Unioto is scary with there size on a neutral floor, and Circleville and WCH are good when they shoot it well. Can't wait to see what this week holds!
Re: Zane Trace Sectional
I never said none of the wins were not legitimate, I simply question the records of opponents as they were listed. Minford is under .500, FU after the Jackson game was I believe 2-6 or 2-7 (though they have played very well since. Any win over Warren is a quality win and according to SEOAL thread Logan is 3 games under .500. Jackson is the better team in my opinion and should get the #1 seed.the kid wrote:Ironman92 wrote:Pol Pot wrote:You have Minford at 10-5 they are lucky to be .500 and are below .500 in their league. Wins are wins in those seeding meetings....I've seen some ridiculous stuff for sure.
Trace and Jackson have common opponents....Westfall, Unioto, Greenfield McClain and Vinton County.....Jackson beat each by about double the margin of Miami Trace....obviously there are other factors into that but the more teams each have as a common opponent the more you can read into it.
Jackson and Miami Trace are pretty familiar with each other from the preseason....it would be a good game.
Re: Zane Trace Sectional
I think regardless of the remaining outcomes before the draw it will be very interesting as only 2 teams advance so the #3-#5 teams (likely Circleville, Unioto and WCH)....I am not sure of Cville or Unioto's record but if they are pretty well figured to be the #3 and #4.....Cville will likely vote who they feel they have the best shot against be it MT or Jackson...our game was canceled but Cville's coach has seen Jackson throughout the season. Unioto played MT pretty close and if they don't figure on the #3 then they may be apt to put MT #1...as might WCH feeling they have a better chance and WCH knowing them better. They also may have seen Jackson and prefer to play them based on their potential matchups......should be an interesting seeding meeting.
In the end....you have to beat someone to get to where you want to go.....in softball we felt hosed with the #6 seed playing a very challenging schedule, went on to destroy the 19-3 #3 seed, then beat a #2 seed in dist semis and then beat the #1 in the dist finals before being narrowly eliminated late in the regional finals by the eventual state champions.
No easy route to the regionals.

Re: Zane Trace Sectional
as of 1/29
Jackson 15-2
Miami Trace 14-4
Unioto 13-4
Circleville 12-5
Washington CH 10-8
Hillsboro 8-10
Chillicothe 7-10
Waverly 4-13
Logan Elm 2-14
not sure if I have Jackson and Waverly's record is correct but I'm sure I92 can help me out on that.

Re: Zane Trace Sectional
As of now I'd have to say Jackson should be the No. 1, followed by Trace, Unioto and Circleville.
Re: Zane Trace Sectional
Do not know how you could not go with Jackson, nothing against the fine year that MT is having. Consider the two losses and who they lost to, and figure what they have done with all the injuries, it's been a very impressive run!bman wrote:As of now I'd have to say Jackson should be the No. 1, followed by Trace, Unioto and Circleville.
