Bulldogs have a makeup game vs Wellston Saturday afternoon (12 pm JV start - varsity will follow) and they travel to Trimble on Monday night (5 pm JV start).

Wellston is believed to have a few girls out due to covid and related quarantines.

Athens only has one senior who plays JV, senior night was held last night, the senior started varsity and played only the first two minutes and was offered to go back in once the game got out of hand in the 4th quarter. They have a large junior class and should be better next year as teams around them graduate seniors and this team improves.

This all sounds real good, but nothing will change until the real problem is addressed.

Yet again, another loss! The kids are really starting to show their disinterested in what is going on. It will be hard to keep their focus in practice in an already difficult year.

Just saw the Athens - Trimble score. Trimble is very good and happy to see then doing so well. But, Trimble is one of the smallest schools in the TVC and Athens is the largest school. Athens joined the league to be the big fish in a little pond and now the tables are turning.

I agree that Trimble looked pretty good, but the girls didn’t seem to be giving much effort. I just think they aren’t interested in playing for the current coach.

I know it’s hard to believe but the lady dogs are defeated AGAIN by a now ONE win Rock Hill team. I think there needs to be a re-evaluation of this coaching staff. And by that I mean the head coach. After one year it’s time to move on. Lady dogs are a much better team than their record reflects and they deserve a better coach. Absolutely no offensive sets, it’s just run around like a headless chicken and throw the ball towards the rim.

The bottom line is your not going to get a elite coach with your non competitive atmosphere.. Elite coaches will not be interested you need a young hunger coach that is interested but the culture at Athens is not a competitive environment
