Portsmouth Lady Trojans 2024-25

More print for the Lady Trojans. I have started a thread about them on www.yappi.com., which has more of a statewide readership than SEOPS. Our girls deserve as many accolades as they have achieved. They continued their undefeated season with a convincing win over Rock Hill last night.

The Lady Trojans travel to Fairland on Saturday to take on the defending co-champions of the OVC (co-champions with Portsmouth). Both teams are undefeated, and return a lot of players from last year's teams. This should be an intense battle, with the winner having a leg up on the chase for the conference title. Both teams made the Final 4 last season, and both lost in their respective semifinal games. PHS lost to Ottawa-Glandorf 47-40 in D3, while FHS lost to Shaker Heights Laurel 53-52 in D2. Both schools are in the same division this season, D5.

Im going with Portsmouth in this one. I think Fairland is still very good but they dont have as much as last season. I hope the Dragons pull it out but I believe the OVC goes through Portsmouth this year.

Both won at home last year. Both may win on the road this year. I think Fairland's room for improvement with the new cast is greater and they will improve more as the season moves on. Good coach and motivator so we will see. I still think they split with the third game coming in the tournament.

The Lady Trojans are now 11-0 after a 68-34 win over Gallia Academy @PHS. PHS is now 11-0 on the season, and 7-0 in the OVC. They've won 20 of their last 21 games in OVC play. The Lady Trojans showed some prowess behind the 3 ball line, as at least 4 girls knocked down the trifecta. That will be important as tournament play comes and PHS will face some zone defenses.

The Lady Trojans won at South Point to stay undefeated and at the top of the OVC. They play tonight at home vs. Chesapeake.

There are 10 goals that are very attainable for these Lady Trojans:

5. Undefeated in the OVC (14-0)

Great post, biggdowgg. As much criticism as our school district gets for its academics, our Lady Trojans prove that to be a myth as they are not only good basketball players, but also great students as well. Proud of our Lady Trojans for taking care of things in the classroom.

Last night the Lady Trojans stayed undefeated with a 62-34 win over Chesapeake. KeKe Woods led the way with 21 points, while Daysha Reid and Sienna Allen also scored in double figures. PHS now 13-0 and at the top of the OVC.

Tough challenge this weekend as the Lady Trojans will travel to Millersburg, Ohio to play in the Classic in the Country. They face two giant D1 schools in Kettering Fairmont and Lakota West. Go Lady Trojans!!

I've heard our main man and Podcaster that does every single lady Trojan and boys games is not allowed to do this game due to the event having their own video people, so anyone that's going that could update either here or on Facebook it would be appreciated.

Lady trojans defeated Kettering alter today with a score of 48 to 45 in double overtime at the classic in the country tournament

That’s a fantastic win. Two of their best scorers shoot a combined 1 for 24 from the field and they still beat one of the best big schools in the state!

Proud of our Lady Trojans, beating a really tough Kettering Fairmont team, which was ranked #5 in D1, and had to overcome an 11 point deficit to win. Our Lady Trojans have met every challenge and have come away unblemished. It hasn't been easy to stay #1 with a lot of challenges coming every week.

Portsmouth plays Lakota West today, starting around 3 or 4 PM. Let's go Lady Trojans!! You can do this!!

What a weekend for the Lady Trojans!! They defeated 2 giant D1 schools at the Classic in the Country. First, they beat Kettering Fairmont, which was previously undefeated 48-45 in 2 OT, then the next day beat Lakota West 51-42. Against Fairmont, the Lady Trojans made some clutch FT's in the extra sessions to secure the win, and against Lakota West, had 4 girls in double figures. PHS is now 15-0 on the season, with the rest of the schedule being OVC schools and one game at Ashland (KY).

PHS 6-1 junior Sienna Allen currently has 17 D1 offers to play basketball. She already has scored over 1,000 points and could end up the all time leading scorer in PHS history, boys or girls. Kyre Allison is the boys all time scorer with 1,688 points, while Peyton Williams leads the girls with 1,500+.

The Lady Trojans made it a clean sweep last night of the Ironton Fighting Lady Tigers with a 59-21 win @Ironton. PHS continues to be undefeated and at the top of the OVC. The schedule is winding down with a few OVC games remaining, including a home game with Fairland, which could be the game that clinches an outright OVC championship for the Lady Trojans. Portsmouth and Fairland were co-champions last season. There are also non-conference games coming up vs. Cincinnati Mt.Notre Dame and Ashland (KY).

The Portsmouth Lady Trojans raised their mark to 18-0 as they defeated the Coal Grove Lady Hornets 62-14 last night @Trojan Arena. 4 girls on PHS hit the 3 ball, Daysha Reid, Sienna Allen, Bri Shannon, and Hayven Carter. The #1 ranked Lady Trojans continue to march toward a showdown with the Fairland Lady Dragons next week which will decide the OVC championship for the 2nd consecutive season.

Mount Notre Dame is #2 in their own district in RPI, #13 overall on MaxPreps in Ohio and #5 in D1.

Those are all good enough, you don’t have to make up that everyone is the #1 ranked team in the state

For instance, George Rodgers Clark is 5th in Kentucky, not a top 25 team in the country. 5th in Kentucky means they are a great team. That’s good enough.
