This would be the one thing I do not LIKE about the Alex people on this board. Things going well they are out in force patting themselves on the back, but when they lose you couldn't find them with Quincy and a good Chemistry Set! Be good sports win or lose! I am sure the Alex girls played as hard as they always do, last night they just were not the better team, and there is NOTHING to be ashamed of, so don't hide, and only come out when you beat the bad teams in the league by 50!

I drove over 2 hours for this game and I must say it was a waste of time. Alexander had a complete melt down. That is the worst fundamental team I have seem from Alex in a long time. Waterford played physical and Alex crumbled under the pressure. Now when I said they would loose by 20 I didn't miss it by far. Waterford could have easily made it 30 if they wanted. I predicted Federal Hocking would beat them and after last night I am sure of it. Congrats to Waterford and the King girl for her 1000 point which was on an offensive rebound. Back to reality for the Spartans

First congrates to Waterford. Don't get on here running your mouths against Alex. They had a bad night. If you know sports,then you should know anything can happen at any time. If you watched that game you know the Alex girls didn't look good at all and didn't play Alex basketball. Any one that has seen them play knows this. Don't bash those young ladies for having a bad night. Have some CLASS. Just so you know Waterford triied to beat them by 30 and they couldn't do it.

I also heard that the lady spartans had a melt down last night and failed to work as a unit (have a friend from Waterford area). This happens sometimes. Saturday's game against Fed Hock will be very interesting. But I don't look for this to be a walk for the lady lancers. No one should get over confident here.

Glad Alex doesn't try to beat people by 30. I would agree that this is not the most fundamental Alex team I have seen. They have some great athletes, and they rely on that a ton! Which there is nothing wrong with, however when playing other really good athletes basketball fundamentals are key! I am willing to bet Waterford just handled that run four girls at the basketball press last night with pretty good ease.

I did not bash in either of my post! This is what I am talking about why some on here love to get under the Alex faithful's skin. I stated I believe the girls played hard, I gave an opinion that this team is not as fundamental as some past teams, but consisted of great athletes. How is that BASHING???????? Is this the best team Alex has ever fielded? Athlete wise maybe, basketball wise probably not. But you want to take anything that states they are not the greatest thing since sliced bread and go off the deep end.

Erv: You need reading lessons!!!!! I said "Waterford beat the run 4 girls at the ball press" of Alex's, which is pretty much like it is, a helter skelter type press, that is not the most fundamental in positioning and rotation. I DID NOT SAY WATERFORD COULD BEAT THE PRESS WITH FOUR GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU JUMP ON ME!


I also did not say it was the worst fundamental team, only that they are not as sound as the past several teams! That is my opinion, and you can have yours.

erv, I also said it was the worst fundamental team ALEX has had in a while. The point guards they had last night basically handed it to Waterford or dribbled around till Waterford stole it and when they passed it to the post players they couldn't catch it. The marietta times said waterford had 21 steals for the game. That is just pour fundamentals. Alex had 30 turnovers and 36 points. I rest my case. They will not make it far in tournaments if they continue to play this way.

Sorry I missed that pol. Just sick of people getting on here and saying things that don't need to be said. Instead of all the little things say they had a bad game. People that were not at the game get on here to hear about how the game went. Waterford played good and Alex played bad. Comments like Waterford could do this or that win by 30 is crazy. They triied to win big and as bad as Alex played they couldn't.

And as is the case when one team plays bad, especially against good competition, the opponent has something to do with that "playing" bad. Just like when Alex plays VC, Meigs, Athens, Wellston teams that are just not as athletic or good as Alex, Alex can play a big part in them not playing well.

Alex, will be solid till pretty deep in the tournament District Championships or even Regional, no doubt in my mind.
