Looks like weather will again threaten the playing of the Warren at Marietta game tomorrow night. Just like last week!

Right off Portsmouth has been playing better ball in the SEOAL for the last four games going into this game.
They have only been dropping games by a little under 11 point per game

More than the game but the program? From highly competitive to this situation. Long ways down but even a farther way back up I am afraid. ???????????

Chilli's situation right now with their girls high school team is a direct result of what happens when the girls get ignored at the lower levels. The 4 years worth of kids (grades 9-12 right now) came up when there was virtually no good biddy ball program in place.

Some team were haphazardly thrown together. They were thrown into "leagues" or tournaments against other communities "all star teams" and final scores of 4th, 5th, and 6th grade games were BLOWOUTS. Scores like 45-2 and 38-5 were common for these kids.

When year after year, you are not just beaten, you are humiliated, .........well, most kids (and parents) quit.

Even in junior high, Chilli has had different coaches year after year with no consistency in the program. The bad downward spiral just continued. As the kids with experience continued to QUIT or MOVE OUT, the new kids came in and were beaten worse. Like when Jackson beat our 8th graders last year 87-9. So MORE kids quit or move.

Now enter in more new kids.........they get beat even worse. Catch the cycle here??

They have a talented group coming up from the junior high level now, but don't be fooled, they are not entirely a product of Chillicothe's organization. Most of them were taught what they know from the Police Athletic league.

Sorry, I will get off my soap box now.................

Wednesday the 25th will be a big night in the league as Marietta travels to Logan and Jackson goes on the road to Warren. This will go a long way in setting up the league standing as the ladies work towards the end on the season. Jackson sets up to be the big spoiler while improving their league standings in the process.
