I wouldn't call it an upset,by records yes,but I think these teams were evenly matched..Piketon just plays in a much tougher league.

I just recall Piketon losing to D4 Fairfield who I think are 3-5 with other wins over East Clinton, Paint Valley)

I know Piketon is in the far superior league but Western had better wins than Piketon.

I knew the 4 Pike Co teams were all pretty close and this tourney shows it

Indianfan4life, yes I have seen them play a few times last year.. and have heard from reliable sources they are playing good, but still those sources don't put them as the best guard combo. And scoring isn't what impresses me with kids, I watch how a kid handles the ball, plays without the ball, does she play defense, does she hustle, etc. Just know that there are several guard combos in the SOC 2 that are above them right now, playing in a tougher conference. JMO but basketball is in a down year all over the southern ohio..

Also proof will be at the end of the year, get out of your sectional and beat someone from the Athens Sectional to get to the District Championship.

Been on vacation this week. First time i seen Western play for a couple games. Doesnt look like the same team that beat ND at ND. The girls look worn out. Western should have beat Eastern by 15 tonight. Woods missed at least 12 bunny shots. They all struggled. They need some rest and get back to work. They will be fine. 8 and 2 going into the break is a hell of a start. Regroup and get back at it. And like i said already Shanks and Brewster will be a big reason this team will be successful. Cant wait for the New Year.

Notre Dame 55, Piketon 43. Impressive win, looks like other players are beginning to step up and score. This will def help as Pierron has been leading in scoring almost every night.
