COSHOCTON — Two-time defending girls Division II state basketball champion River View ended its season the way it started — with a loss to Maysville.
After losing their season opener at Maysville, the Lady Bears had reeled off 20 straight wins. But the Lady Panthers turned the tables again, rallying from a nine-point third-quarter deficit for a stunning 45-42 win in the Division II sectional finals at Coshocton High School.
Maysville (16-6) advanced to the district co-championship game at Ohio University-Eastern, while River View ended an outstanding 20-2 campaign. Maysville also handed 20-1 Logan its only loss during the regular season.
