I think the Jeeps are definately going to get some competition from Minford and Oak Hill this year. I definately feel they will not go undefeated.

teams "competed" with them last year.

This year teams will compete and more.

Who does SW return other than Kayla? Anybody moving up that will make an impact?

Minford will have a very strong team as will Oakhill. Minford returns a lot of talent this year.

Webster returns more than just Kayla. Erin Sherman was the top rebounder and 3rd scorer last year along with Erin Moore who was also a starter. Taylor Queen and Brianna Rawlins both saw considerable playing time last year.

The Jeeps did not win the SOC easily. They had to fight hard against Burg, Minford and Oak hill to pull it out. Will they go undefeated this year? I hope so, but it will be a huge dogfight.

They had wins over 4 of the major varsity girls teams last year (Minford, Valley, Oakhill and Burg) but if you look at the scores, SW had to play hard to get those wins. At least 5 of those wins were within 2-10 points (don't know the score of the Oakhill games) so I think the question may be.....without Kara will they be able to compete with the other varsity teams in the area? She put points on the board and was a great factor in those wins.

Yes, Kara was a big part of the team last year, but the Jeeps are a team. The year before last they made it to the regionals with freshmen and sophmores and without Kara. That group is still together and still working hard everyday. Sherman will step back in to the role of 2nd leading scorer and everyone else will step up where they can.

The Jeeps will be back at the top of the league this year along with Burg, Oak Hill and Minford. It'll be fun to watch to see how it all works out. That's what makes the SOC II a great league. Any team can win on any night. There is so much talent on all the teams.

I think Minford, Oak Hill and South Webster will be in the hunt. I think the loss of SW's #2 scorer will be a huge loss. Minford has the experience edge while Oak Hill has a lot of talent and a deep bench. I don't think SW can make either boast.

Well all u have to do is remember back to the game at Minford to get both ?'s answered, If u cant let me jogg ur memory for U! Kara went down in that game with only playing 3min of the 2nd quarter an only scored 7 points. After she went down with a shoulder hurt, Minford started doubling down on Kayla but the rest of the girl steped up an started scoring an at that point in time took the doubt away.

These girls have played together for a long time. It help last year having Kara to take some of the pressure off of some of the younger player to give them more time to work on there game an from what i have seen so for this summer its going to pay off for them.

Kara U will be missed VERY much not only on the floor but off !!! Also Britney an Molly u 2 will be missed as well & just as MUCH!!!

Didn't Minford get ahead after Cayton went down and weren't they ahead when she came back in. That's the way I remember it, and then when Cayto came back in SW went ahead to win.

Falconflyer you remember wrong. Once Kara went down @ Minford she never came back in. She was done for the night. Sherman spent a lot of time on the bench due to foul trouble. She only came back in with about 3 mins left in the game. The rest of the team dug deep and pulled out the win.

JMO but early predictions for the SOC would include Minford and Oakhill at the top with Burg and SW next. That's without seeing all the teams and barring any injuries to any key players.

Kara did not return to the game,I don't think Sherman was in foul trouble, she had a double-double 10 points and 10 rebounds.Minford's McManus was in foul trouble early and only played a short time. The next game Sherman had 8 points and only 5 rebounds. McManus had 15 points and 12 rebounds, Conrad had 7 rebounds and Harris had 14 points according to the Times

Still where I have always been in good old Muletown. My oldest daughter has graduated but still have a son in school.

And yes Oak Hill wins this year.

The one thing you all forget is that Minford has a different coach this year, with probably a different scheme. Also, Kendra Justice is looking touch during AAU, she has a year under her belt, and the Minford team is working hard just as all the other teams, it is a new year, and it is hard to repeat any type of success when you have that bullseye on your back. Also, things change with players between years, maybe some do not work as hard as others and others work even harder to be better, it will be a good year for the SOC II, go Lady Falcons!!!
