This year there are only two Division III Sectionals whereas in past years there's been three Sectionals. With four teams from each Sectional advancing to the Waverly District it should make for some interesting conversation over the next few weeks leading up to the Feb. 5 drawing. Here is a list of teams for each Sectional. Please post current records for each team. The Southeast District web-page says 14 teams for the Jackson Sectional, however I counted 15 teams. There are 14 teams at the Lucasville Valley Sectional.

Jackson (15)

Alexander 2-16
Chesapeake 11-6
Crooksville 9-9
Dawson-Bryant 9-8
Fairland 19-0
Ironton 5-13
Meigs 3-15
Nelsonville-York 12-6
Oak Hill 16-2
River Valley 4-13
Rock Hill 6-11
Southeastern Ross 6-12
Lucasville Valley 14-3
Wellston 11-6
Zane Trace 11-8

Lucasville Valley (14)

Adena 17-1
Eastern (Sardinia) 9-8
Huntington Ross 1-16
Lynchburg Clay 13-5
Minford 4-13
North Adams 13-5
Northwest 3-14
Paint Valley 6-12
Peebles 12-6
Piketon 8-9
Portsmouth 13-4
Portsmouth West 14-5
West Union 4-14
Wheelersburg 10-6

Thanks Bulldog - I used your web-site and posted the Jackson records. Should be very interesting this year at both Sectionals on the seeding. At Jackson I'd have to go with :

1 - Oak Hill
2 - Fairland
3 - Lucasville Valley
4 - Chesapeake

After that it's anyone's guess. I'm sure there will be jockeying at both Jackson and Lucasville Valley to try to avoid Oak Hill as long as possible. No way that two SE District teams meet in the Regional Finals this year as both District winners are matched up the first game of the Regionals.

Wow! What did Crooksville do to warrant being placed so far away from their area?

Both the boys and girls teams from Crooksville are grouped in with these teams every year ... Same with Miller in Division IV ... Both aren't that far from the area though - Nelsonville-York, Trimble, Miller, Crooksville are just a hop-skip-and-a-jump away from one another.

Fairland Lady Dragons are now 12-0. They are very strong with the 6'3'' girl dominating each game along with the 3 pt shooting guards.

Here is a guess for the Valley Sectional Seeds:

1 - Adena
2 -
3 -
4 -
5 -
6 -
7 -
8 -
9 - Lynchburg Clay
10 - Minford
11 - Paint Valley
12 - Northwest
13 - West Union
14 - Huntington Ross

**** I tried to come up with seeds 2 - 8 and just couldn't do it yet. Those teams are so evenly balanced and there are still a lot of games to be played before the draw. I could see any of those teams being seeded as high as 2 or as low as 8 depending on how things play out before the draw. Going to make an interesting next couple of weeks.

#9 Lynchburg is pretty good

Sectional definitely loaded with several very solid teams.

I think avoiding Portsmouth would be a thing to do.

Case in point.....last night Lynchburg knocked off the state ranked and undefeated Georgetown girls....that's maybe the best win of this sectional.

Georgetown had a 45 game regular season winning streak.
