Blue angels win in double ot

Post by Who9Dey »

Good win for the angels over rv but I'm a little confused. Freshman c Slone has been playing a lot and led angels in scoring at Portsmouth and has scored a lot lately and a game that goes to 2ot and the final score was still in the 30's how does she only play 2 min total ?

R u serious??? Blue Angels getting some players back from injury and get a win against an equally struggling RV team.... And you want to complain about a freshman not playing much???!!! Ms. Slone will be an outstanding player for GAHS (if she keeps working) but to get on here and cry and bit** about playing time for a freshman is ridiculous!!!

Blue I get what u r saying and it's a good win anytime u beat the valley but not crying here just she was held out of jv to play varsity then played 2 Varsity min. 2 jv qtrs and 2 varsity min.

Slone will be a very good player...but right now she's inconsistent on the varsity level!!! I've seen her look like a superstar one minute and completely lost the next minute!!! So I figure the coaching staff was more comfortable with who they had on the floor!!! But they do need to play some of their younger players 5 qts a night..wether it's varsity or jv!!! They're not going to progress just playing a couple qts a night!!!

It's a fine line to walk.. You want to try to start working your younger kids in and get them some varsity experience..but at the same time play your older kids who have been there and worked hard for 3 or 4 years... U still need to be fair to them!!

I agree somewhat but If a fresh or soph can produce more I'm going with the best player. Must play to win but I agree I will always give older girls first shot but if they can't produce I must try youth if youth is just as good.

NO!!!! just PO'S me when the Blue Angels finally get 2 SRs back from injury and win that the first words out of Chef E is wanting to know why a freshman didnt play more!!! AS far as the coaching...U and I both know that I dont meet the requirements to coach anywhere in Gallia Co....#1 I dont have a daughter that plays...#2 I dont have the right last name or the connections to coach!!! I'd love to see a chart of the wins and losses of when the current coaches at GAHS and RV took over!!!

Chef E? Who told u I can cook ;)
I just wanted to know why she only played 2 min varsity since she was held out from jv.
Play her one or the other. And that was my beef. Ol blue I dont know who u are and I wasn't upset about ur comments earlier.

It's just like back in the day...
(keeping it all in the family..)
Cant't let the "Freshman" out
shine the upper classman....

regardless: play the players "that" can play

I can’t speak for Gallia but I can tell you of one incident that this brings to mind for me. Last season saw a player score 21 points in less than 2 quarters in a JV game (6 - 3's, a layup and a foul shot). Then she was pulled and told to go to the locker room to get ready for the varsity game. She never got in during the varsity game even when the team was up big and with about 3 minutes to go the opposing team pulled all of their starters out. Guess by taking her out of the JV game the coaches were telling her she had scored enough that day. As a matter of fact she’s never been given that sort of opportunity again. So, to me sometimes it seems as if certain players are chosen by the coaches whom they want to advance. I’ve seen players turn the ball over, make bad passes, whatever, and they stay on the floor to gain “experience.” Then, you have other players who are just as good or even better and have more potential but they aren’t one of the “chosen” ones. It’s sad really and very disappointing but it’s the reality of high school sports these days.
