SOC II best Freshman players?

Post by lady_oaks_fan3362 »

Now that we have seen the freshman play, who do you think is the leading freshman in SOC II?

And your vote would put her at about 5th. Come on, great kid, great athlete but not the best freshman in the league or county for that matter.

Seems T Hale has been a bit silent as of late offensively but she is a heck of a defensive force.

if she is 5th then why does she only play varisty while the others still play jv. now dont tell me oak hill doesnt have enough players because for 2 quarters all you need is 5 players and the oaks should be developing some of the local girls who arent as talented as the ones that moved in so they don't have to depend on transfers to be successful

If that 25 is as good as you say she is..then why doesnt she help her team out some???
I heard the score of the Oak Hill Burg game and it sounds like the Oak Hill freshman are much better then she is

I got to see part of the Oak Hill game tonight and 25 was a good player but she didn't do anything impressive the first half (no points, no assists, no steals) and they did not have Oak Hill's best defensive player on her. She is a good player, esp. since she is a freshman on varsity, but I would not list her as the best in the SOC. On the other hand I would not list T. Hale has the best either. Once again she is a good player, but not the top one. The Caudill (sp?) girl or the younger Butler from Oak Hill would definitely rank I think. Just to clarify, I am not saying that 25 from Burg or Hale from Oak Hill are not good players. It is a huge accomplishment to start and play varsity as freshman and they both have shown that they deserve that.

I haven't seen Oak Hill play yet so I can't comment on them but Bear from Valley really impresses me. She is quick, plays good defense and can flat shoot the ball. She's going to be tough as she gets older.

why do people always start these kinds of threads?
what makes the difference if a player is a freshman or not?
its varsity basketball not freshman or sophomore basketball etc
so if you are wanting someone to brag on your kid just do it at home yourself im sure it will be much more appreciated!
i can understand the poy threads and stuff like that but thats usually all political too!!!
how can you say one freshman is better or not there are alot of things to consider
number 1 being the teams they are on if they are on a really good team and the opposing team has maybe their 3rd or 4th best defender guarding them then they may look better than a girl thats on a not so good team being guarded by the best defender etc: being on a really talented well coached team is alot easier to look good because they all look good when everyone is on same page playing team ball
and for you people to get on here and say this player or that player doesnt look that good to you isnt being fair to anyone these are kids and they get on here more than the adults so why doesnt everyone realize you can have conversations in here about winning and losing and bad officiating or anything else in good fun but you shouldnt talk about the kids personally

I can tell you why i started this thread, to get an idea of what to expect the next few years. As for your comment about wanting my kid to get noticed, I don't have any kids. I know the Oak Hill kids and just wanted some info on kids that are not covered by our local papers. I guess I should leave things to the professionals like you. Sorry if i offended anyone. That was not my intention.

I understand. Just didn't want to cause any waves on here. As one person said previously, if you make varsity as a freshman you must be pretty special already.
