Why is Athens a surprise this year? They only lost two players due to graduation last year and return almost everyone.

They have the best player in the state and would have made it last year except they ran into harvest prep

The best player in each division (1-4) is that divisions player of the year. The voted on best player in all divisions is Ms. Ohio Basketball....and I'm not sure a sophomore has ever won it...though Katie Smith should have.

The Burdette girl is the 22nd ranked player in the country according to espn. Eastern will moss the Connery girl at point guard but I think Burdette will make up for that.

I agree the Burnette girl is good, but saying they will make it to state is a bold prediction. Anything can happen and she is only one player out of 5 on that team. Hope for a injury free season.

I noticed her at #21 in the nation for class of 2014....(5th highest rated Ohio girl for that graduating class. Impressive to even be acknowledged on there.

her name is terra stapleton-shes a sophmore at 6'4. played last season at st.joe (huntington,wv) also plays for wv thunder aau team.

From what I have read and heard, Jackson should be a force this year. Bit of advise for the parents.......let the coach do the coaching and you could very well have a championship season. Try to coach for her and you wull lose a great coach!

Keep an eye on South Webster. VERY young but lots of talent in the Freshmen class that will contribute.
