I watched them in shootouts this summer...they had a very enthusiastic coach and the girls seemed to understand the game and play harder than I've seen them play in years!!! I relly think that they will be a major surprise in the SOC this year!!!!

Iam4OSU the lady vikes looked real good against whiteoak friday night. The defense looked better than it ever has in the past few years & the girls worked the floor better and were more aggressive & went after the ball on both sides of the floor..The offense worked the ball around better but there are still some small things that need to be worked on.Coach Walker has done a good job with the girls.Keep up the hard work lady vikes!

Coach Walker is well liked everywhere he goes. I am sure the Symmes Valley girls would've handled Whiteoak with or without Coach Walker, but there aren't two people on the planet that know how those Whiteoak girls play basketball....an advantage for sure.

Best of luck to Coach Walker and Symmes Valley Lady Vikings.

tagyourit-the girls played very well against wellston yesterday. Wellston is a very aggressive team and the lady vikes held their own on both sides of the floor. The lady vikes will be a team to watch out for in the soc 1 this year even though they are a young team.Coach Walker has done a geat job with the girls!
If i remember right the girls won by 22 points...GOOD LUCK LADY VIKES!!!!!!!!!

SV beat Wellston by 22? If so that is impressive for D4 SV. Wellston won't play a tough schedule but they'll likely be over .500 again.

Wellston plays in a conference with 3 D2 schools and plays I think one D2 school non conference which makes for 7 D2 games. They also play 11 D3 games with 2 D4 games I believe?? As far as the scrimmage goes I had to work so I didn't attend however Wellston hasn't played well all pre-season until last night at Peebles High School. We didn't win a quarter last season in the pre-season so I really don't know what to take about the pre-season anymore. But good luck to symmes valley and everyone else this season. Hope everyone stays healthy and has a good thanksgiving.

And Jackson plays a tough non-conference schedule? Couple D3 schools and 1 or 2 D4 schools?

I never, ever said Jackson played a tough schedule. I was simply trying to let SV fans understand what beating a team like Wellston could compare to. They will be a decent bit over .500 as a D3 school, but don't play a tough schedule. I wasn't slamming Wellston...I was trying to inform folks in SV country.

Since you brought it up though I found one of your recent posts:sportjunky Post subject: Re: TVC-OhioPosted: Thu Nov 24, 2011 11:36 pm

Posts: 6 VC started 3 freshman, Wellston started 1 Freshman, NY started 3 Freshman and Alex started 4 seniors and won the league. Athens will start 4 seniors and 1 freshman. Best Pg in the league hands down! I'm not from Athens either and I don't like them but they are the best team in the TVC Ohio Division. 8-2 or 9-1 this season in league play. NY plays a soft schedule and it will hurt them when it comes tournament time and when they play on the road against the top teams in the TVC. You do have a good Coach in Coach Dalton but I don't understand how having a Football coach help you win games? Prolly will help parents keep their mouths shut considering he was one of the most respect coaches in the league during his day. Best of Luck to the Lady Buckeyes 13-7 overall (4-6) TVC.

"NY plays a soft schedule" You were speaking directly of NY on a TVC thread....I was adding info on a SV thread. We both believe these teams play a non-tough/soft schedule.

I agree to that! And Jackson plays a soft schedule also!
