Re: Divisional Breakdown For Upcoming Years
Things look fairly static in terms of divisional movement for the girls in SE Ohio, with the exception of a couple of schools. As mentioned, South Point moves up to DII for the next two years, and Fed Hock moves down to D IV, so there will be some impact come tournament time in 2010. For the TVC, here's how it breaks down with the new enrollment figures
Hocking:
Eastern enrollment 91 D IV
Fed Hock enrollment 124 D IV
Miller enrollment 91 D IV
Southern enrollment 65 D IV
Trimble enrollment 125 D III
H20ford enrollment 88 D IV
Ohio:
Alex enrollment 196 D III
Athens enrollment 322 D II
Belpre enrollment 118 D IV
Meigs enrollment 228 D II
NY enrollment 139 D III
VC enrollment 263 D II
Wellston enrollment 187 D III
Belpre moving to the Hocking and South Gallia joining (109 girls, D IV) will result in the Hocking being basically a D IV conference, depending on what happens over the next couple of years with enrollment. I'd say with the declining enrollment trend, it will most likely be all D IV in a few years.

Re: Divisional Breakdown For Upcoming Years
Clearly the best division to be in in the southeast region is 3.You get three teams from this area to the regionals every year right now.
Re: Divisional Breakdown For Upcoming Years
I agree,I'd rather be in D3 than D4. D3 is where it's at in the Southeast...Sorry,Chilly and Logan, but D1 is where you dont want to be..D2 is tough too, that Adena bracket will still be loaded..D4 is'nt a bad draw but not as good as 3...
Re: Divisional Breakdown For Upcoming Years
I see that Federal will now have to battle South Webster and Waterford at some point in a tournament run. That's not any easier then them have to battle Oak Hill or South Point. Also the I see the Private specialty team in Columbus moved up to DIII this year.
Poor Trimble they missed DIV by a girl. Federal just made it at 124.

Re: Divisional Breakdown For Upcoming Years
Looking at the first link provided, it says that the DII cutoff for girls is 215. When you click on the enrollment list provided by OHSAA on the division breakdown page, South Point is listed with 212. Check it out.

Re: Divisional Breakdown For Upcoming Years
You were looking at South Point's enrollment figure for 2007 thru 2009, which was 212. If you use both links above, the second link shows 2010-2011 figures which is 215. So South Point is D II.
