Heard today that PV senior guard and All SVC player Whitney Hollon is sick with the flu and missed their game on Wednesday and not sure of her status for tomorrow

Both teams are the 'Cats.

So I can't go wrong in saying that the Cats are bound to win this game. Go Cats!

Waterford shot the ball poorly in the first half. Let's see what the second half brings.

42-30 Waterford with a little less than 4 minutes left in the third. Waterford has really jacked up the defensive intensity in the third quarter and is now running the floor, which seems to be giving Paint Valley alot of problems.

51-34 end of the third. Waterford has really turned up the heat.

70 37 final!!! Turned up the heat . . . I think they definitely got fired up at halftime Steely!

Kerinon - Yes they did! PV's starters were held to 10 points in the second half, and the team was held to 12 second half points overall.

I was at the game today and what a difference in halves. Here are my observations.

PV forced their tempo early and played very well. Whitney Hollon and Abbie Walls really played well for PV. In the second half Waterford won the tempo battle and their athletes just took over. Hollon had 14 in the first half and it looked like Waterford kept fresh legs on her in the second half and limited her looks. Bottom line Waterford was able to play 9 kids and PV really only used 6 and you can tell PV's legs were gone after halftime. I feel Waterford is the best team I have seen all year and would win the SVC - very athletic and well coached.

Being a Ross County resident it was great to see a local team playing. But I have a question to all the PV folks - WHERE WERE YOU? What a pitiful crowd - I saw their AD, the Boys BB, Coach, some of the Football staff but there was no other Administrator present. A PV Dad told me this is the first boy or girl BB team to play in a District tourney in 6 years and I bet they may have had 40 fans at the game. The PV Administration should be ashamed and embarrassed! On the other hand Waterford had a tremendous fan base and were very loud.

Thanks for the nice recap Shoelace. I can assure you that the crowd you saw supporting Waterford is that strong from the beginning of the season through to the finish. They are a superior supportive group of fiercely loyal fans. I've been to many gyms, and have been saddened by the lack of support shown for the opposition. There have been games this year where the players from the visiting team outnumbered their fans! These student athletes need to be supported! I even heard a comment from the visiting Parkersburg Big Reds - a player speaking with her mother, "Mom, I wish we could play in front of that many people every game." This from one of the largest high schools in West Virginia! In that situation, as maybe with others, I've been told that the AD is all about boys' sports and actually schedules games on the same days as the girls' games. It's really unfortunate. Waterford atheletes are a very lucky bunch. Waterford fans rank among the best!! Best darn fans in the land!

Waterford's fans and their fan base are some of the best, period. The community support is fantastic.
