Re: SOC POY
the problem through the years is that it is a popularity contest just like at every level, yeah record shoud be looked at, but it should go the players who did the most for their team and made those better around them, but we shall see..just my opinion and here is my two cents..lol..
If you were really going to do it right, Leader or Justice in the SOC II would be the favorite, voting for the players that meant the most to their teams, but it will probably wont be voted that way.
SOC I the Hempill girl or someone from Eastern will probably win that o

you are joking right? Butler or Bear were the two best players in the league this year.Falconburger wrote:the problem through the years is that it is a popularity contest just like at every level, yeah record shoud be looked at, but it should go the players who did the most for their team and made those better around them, but we shall see..just my opinion and here is my two cents..lol..

No I am not joking about the girls I am talking about, like I said, who meant more to their teams, believe that both West and Minford increased victory totals over the previous year, due to the play of those two girls. If you take Butler or Bear off their teams do they still win? Oak Hill is what it is, a loaded team, not knocking them, they are good and deservingly so, but Player of the Year should go to the best overall player, not the the one from the winning team, Leader's stats speak for themselves, Justice has increased her scoring this year I do believe and runs that team, where is Minford without her? Hey this is just my opinion, I don't vote for it, it was a question posed on here and I answered with my thoughts.

I would have to go with Hemphill in the SOC I. She is a force on Clay's team. I see her being a force at the next level after a summer of college level conditioning.

Re: SOC POY
But you can't use that argument every year against Oak Hill and knock their players from getting an award because the rest of the team is good. With your argument couldn't you also say that Leader and Justice had great stats because they were on a weaker team?
I am not knocking any one of those players. I know Kenny from when she played AAU for Doug and Tori Leader is an amazing athlete that I would love to have on my team. And no, I don't think that Valley would have won very many without Bear on their team. In fact I think that Minford and West would all win more than Valley without the players you mentioned.

Re: SOC POY
I am not saying thing against the Oak Hill girls either, they are a great team. But if you base it solely on winning the SOC then no one would else would be considered for it..lol..just my opinion, that is all, this is a discussion, make your case for the oak hill girls...if Butler is gone, do they still win? And thinking about Bear, you are probably right in throwing her name in there also, the one that hurts leader and her is that they are sophomores..

Is Hempill being recruited for college ball ? She or # 22 from Eastern would be my SOC 1 pick.

No, Hempill is not being recruited. I do believe she is going to college in New York for one year then coming back to Shawnee, I wont put my life on it though. But I think Hempill deserves Player Of the Year IMO. Her stats are just outrageous.ManitouDan wrote:Is Hempill being recruited for college ball ? She or # 22 from Eastern would be my SOC 1 pick.

Re: SOC POY
Like I said, it is all political anyway, it was asked about who we thought I put in my two cents worth, knowing that it will probably be a girl from Oak Hill cause they won the SOC, nothing wrong with that, that is great for Oak Hill and their girls..they are a strong team, but if you look at who means more in the increase in wins, and numbers, Leader would be a strong contender as the other players that are mentioned..15 and 12 are great number for a sophomore who teams are looking for, but we shall see.
