pretty big game ... Athens (6-1, 3-0 TVC-Ohio) vs Vinton County (5-4, 3-0 TVC-Ohio)
The Vikes are winners of 5 straight.
After seeing Jackson the other night ... and knowing Vinton County hung with the Ironladies earlier in the season ... tells me the Lady Vikes must be pretty darn good.
Should be a good one at McAfee.

Athens played outstanding defense against the Lady Vikings! If they continue to improve, they will be difficult to beat.

The game of the year will be when the mighty Jackson Ironladies invade McAfee on jan 7, 2013. Should decide #1 seed in Meigs II sectional.
I like the lady dogs in this one due to performance against common opponent Vinton County.
I heard Lot of VC lady players at odds with coach. If that is true hard to play well not trusting coaches game plan!
Eventhough my new home is in Jackson, I am rootin' for the Lady Dawgs in this prelude to a district champuionship.

I already blew up copies of your post saying Walburn sucks at shooting and now I have another to give him.
Seriously....seriously using the VC outcome as the only reasoning is just not good. Compare each team's entire schedule so far.
Jackson 10-0
HOME GAMES
Portsmouth....won big
Gallia Academy....won huge
Minford (6-1) won by 30+
NEUTRAL
Shekinah Christian (D4 power school) won by double digits
AWAY
Vinton County
Eastern Meigs...won by double digits
Chillicothe....won by 35+
Logan....won by double digits
Greenfield McClain...won by 20+
Meigs....blowout

LOL ... was kind of hoping cable_hogue's post would have mysteriously disapeared.
but whoa, wait a sec ... what did I say about Walburn? I don't remember making that comment .....
The Athens student section in the early 90's may have used Walburn - and sucks - in the same sentence ... but lets not throw 93Dog into that mix ...

from what i read and heard if Logan had started out the game by staying close to Jackson in the first the Chiefs could have very well taken the victory.

Plenty of if's on Jackson's side as well. Props to Jackson for going crazy on the road in the 1st quarter. We were up 24-7 and our reigning league co-POY hadn't even scored. It's a four quarter game and Logan was very good for 3.

Sorry 'bout opening that can of worms. Getting ahead of myself. Lady Dogs need to be congradulated for defeating the Lady Vikings to take sole posession of 1st in TVC Ohio. Just excited because this is going to be the first game I plan on attendimg since I moved here; hope I do not have to work that night!

I don't know anything about the Lady Bulldogs, but it will take a good basketball team to beat Jackson on their bad outings. Their shooting skills are impressive, has to be some excellent coaching of the fundamentals going on there.
21 of the first 23 foul shots at Eastern, unbelievable!

According to the paper, Athens was 21 of 24 the other night, that's not 21 of 23, but that's pretty dang-gum good.

What does all this have to do with Athens/Vinton? Must have missed something. Athens gets very little respect on this site, but they are a very good defensive team. Teams that are used to playing teams that just let them shoot will find it is not as much fun with someone in their face.

The fourth post on this site changed the topic from Athens/Vinton to Jackson. Seems to me that no one wants to talk about Athens. Okay by me, but start another topic.
