Natalie Cooper is a matchup nightmare. She had more than the 4 blocks she was credited for and handled the ball very well.
The better team won and wins the league. Good run by the young Lady Shermans, they should be a heavy favorite when healthy next year to win the league. But, hopefully the seniors (Retherford, Flautt, and Wolford) can go out with a solid tournament run.

This was a great atmosphere to watch a game--the gym was packed. I totally agree about Natalie Cooper. She has really come on strong the second half of the year. I look for her to join her teammate Jenny Grigsby on the SVC's first team this year. When her and Grigsby both have the games they had tonight they are hard to beat. Congrats to Unioto on having a great year. They have a lot to look forward to in the next couple of years.

I could not agree more about Cooper. Her defense is amazing where she can match up on ANY girl on the court, no matter their size or speed and she will lock them up. On this night though, due to foul trouble, Grigsby was the one to put on a defensive clinic. Overly could not even get a good shot off in the second half. But more than that, b/c Overly couldn't get by Grigsby, there was no help side D required so Unioto's shooters couldn't get open kick outs on the perimeter. The combination of Grigsby/Cooper is very tough on the offensive end as well, but when the rest of the team really steps up their game and knocks down open shots, rebounds well, and moves the ball, it takes the team to a different level. In order for success come tourney time, they will definitely need this kind of total team effort to make a strong run.
I'll also go a little further on Cooper. I know there are other great players in the league, and Overly is one of them. But if I could choose only one girl in the league for my team other than Grigsby, it would be Cooper. In my opinion, if not for Grigsby, she would be running for POY. She handles the ball a ton, can score around the rim and in the mid range, and her defense is the best in the league. She may not have the outside consistency that Overly or others have in the league, but as an all around player, she's second in the league behind her own teammate.
Best of luck moving forward Lady Warriors!
