Post by Ironman92 »

Who you got? Voting was today.

D2 Erica Dawson and Madison Ridout
D3 Stapleton, Tori Leader and Laney Lewis
D4 Jenna Burdette

Who'd I miss candidate wise? Arzen, Doseck...Poe.

For Division 3 I'd throw Adena's Jenny Grigsby and North Adam's Emily Fite into the mix.

Wasn't sure Fite had the "numbers" and wasn't sure Adena had a star player or a bunch of good ones.

I've only seen Emily Fite play twice but was impressed with her. I don't know her numbers but that's just off of the "eye test". Jenny Grigsby is the best player in the SVC and very fun to watch. I would say she is a "star player" but doesn't post maybe as many numbers as some others in the area because she is surrounded by a talented teammate, Natalie Cooper and good role players as well. According to SVCsportszone she averages around 16 points and 8 boards and is one of the best defenders I've seen this year. I saw her go head to head with Tori Leader this year--that was fun to watch! Definitely two of the best in the southeast district.

With that said, I see Tera Stapleton winning POY with the run that Fairland has had and the numbers she's put up. I haven't seen Laney Lewis but hear she is very deserving of first team mention.

Lewis was killing it early on about 22 pts and 14 rb.....lost track the last 2/3 of season but I'd bet she was around 18/12 a game.

Those are nice numbers. I heard she suffered an injury in the loss last night? I wish her well going forward. I assume she is playing basketball at the next level?

I didn't hear that. I hope she's ok....she's an awesome kid that just flat out makes you smile. I imagine she's playing somewhere next year. Her sister I believe went over 1500 points in college (also LC's coach)
