Congrats to the Chillicothe Lady Cavalier's. Saturdays's victory over Wilmington gives the Lady Cavs a 12-2 League record (15-5 overall) and a share of the championship with Greenfield. This league championship is Chillicothe's first league title since 1987. From a team that went 0-21 just a few years ago, the program is turning the corner.

Congrats Coach Beard and staff and of course the student-athletes. Girls BB has not seen 15 wins since Amy Hughes left in 2008. Coach Beard has been building and has turned around a weak program in two short years at the varsity level. Keep playing strong and beat former SEOAL foe Logan this week.

Special Thanks for Coach Steve Dawes as he has been an intregal part in this teams development. As a coach in the system for over 6 years in the system, he has been a key link in fostering a winning attitude and the fundamental development of the players. Also, Coach Shawn Blue did not reap the success that this years team has won, but his efforts are much appreciated as he worked with very little experience on the floor. With basically only 1-2 seniors graduating over a 2-3 year period, this program has been young in experience, but not lacking talent. The foundation has been poured and that is in defense. The building blocks are starting to go up. Hopefully, the kids continue to buy in and this program can create it's own identify in Southeast Ohio.
