It is hard to believe that basketball is here already. The girls previews will be November 21 at Clay.

Yep, senior lead squad that should be solid. Not dominant but still very good.

I know it is only a preview scrimmage with only two quarters but I think people still like to see a decent some what game. Probably the best matchup is Minford vs Western and Eastern vs South Webster. Green vs Valley and New Boston vs Northwest may not be much of a contest. Clay vs West may be decent. Regardless I plan on watching probably all the games. Best the luck to all the teams.

Not sure if Wheelersburg or Valley will be playing in preview with their football teams playing that same night.

It would be safe to say valley will probably be playing but wheelersburg will still be because the football team plays on Saturday

Valley will not be there. The Northwest JV team will be taking their place.

Glad to see Western looking ok against Minford. Westerns guards are improving daily.

The SOC Div I faired pretty well against their big sisters of Div II. Clay edged West while Green got pass Northwest JV and Western over Minford. Wheelersburg and Oak Hill looked strong and well balanced.

What has happened to West? I thought with our biddy ball complex that we would be great in basketball both boys and girls for years to come, but it is not playing out that way.

Seriously? The Complex wasn't even established when these girls were in biddy ball. We are very young, starting line up consists of three sophomores, a junior, and a senior. It's not going to be easy, but we will get there. The group of girls that are sophomores now won in biddy ball and jr high, it's just going to take time in high school. And it's only coach Wiley's second season...don't give up on them!

Eastern still has the best player in the league and until someone beats them -- they are the leader of the SOC1 . Roney is so far above most ( not all) of the SOC 1 players she alone can win most games .

I agree Dan she is likely the only girls D1 athlete in our neck of the woods as a sophomore she averaged 22-23 ppg and I look for to be playing with a chip on her shoulder this year. The only player in are league close to her I think is the Shaffer girl at Notre Dame . Watching those to kids play is a lot of fun and I'm betting there head to head match ups are going to be special.

B Pierron is really good at ND as well, she will prob put up big numbers that match Schaffer at ND . She didnt have her best games VS eastern last year but Brooke is really good and a great leader . She has the size , strength, athletic ability and experience to lead ND to a title .

Pierson is the backbone of nd's team. She is a great athlete, and goes hard all 4 quarters! Although roney can beat most teams in the conference by herself she's not that good to be Notre Dame and Western Notre Dame has too many weapons and Western I believe return all the starters from last years team.Eastern with roney and Stanley I just don't think they have enough to win the league

light', hope you mean D1 in the SOC1, cause in your neck of the woods you have Hall at Webster getting D1 looks, Williams from Portsmouth getting D1 looks and several underclassmen on teams radars. Agree Rooney is a talent, if she comes to play with a chip. We scrimmaged her and she probably played the best I have seen her play. But also think if they keep they ball in her hands and allow her to run the offense she will be a hard stop. Stanley is shooting the ball extremely well, but they need that 3rd scorer to step up. Another battle between ND, Western and EAstern in the SOC 1

I am sorry but I must have missed something. I have not really seen a Division I player in any of the two SOC conferences.
