Nice to see Coach H get to coach the varsity again:

http://mariettatimes.com/page/content.d ... l?nav=5025

I guess nobody else wants to coach now when they have lost their all state players, and this year have to to go back to Canton for the post season and be D1 after all the years coach H didn't get to coach when they had excellent players and got to play post season in D2 SE! Coach H deserved to get to coach these last few years!

Dover... 15 05 13 22 -- 55
Marietta 14 17 14 19 -- 64

Dover took a 20-15 lead, then Moriah Monaco picked up her 2nd foul and went to the bench. While there, Marietta went on a 17-0 run during which Monaco came back in and promptly picked up her 3rd and went back out. That spurt held up as Dover could close it no closer than 7 the rest of the way. Balanced scoring for the Tigers with 15,14,13,10,5,4,3.

Looks like the Lady Tigers are back in business after all the loss of their All Ohio leader from last season.

Just maybe the New Coach has something to do with this great start?

Keep up the good work Tigers.

Marietta... 9 10 14 15 -- 48
Cambridge. 6 11 11 6 --- 34

One player in the game scored in every quarter, and her total was in single digits. Just three players in the game scored in double figures.

So how does Coach Cozzens not have time to Coach Marietta, lose his edge or whatever, and he turns up at Warren as an assistant?

I know him very well. Just like he has told the admin, the media, and other friends who asked, he stepped down because he can't be there all the time because of his family. In fact he told me they were going to spend Christmas with his oldest daughter.

With that said he and Coach Colgrove are close friends and have coached together for a long time. She had asked him to come take a look and tell her what he thought. He has been to a couple practices and yesterday he had time and went to their game to see how they were doing. He told me that they played a great game against Oak Hill but just couldn't make a basket. He told me that being there yesterday would make a stir with some people in attendance but that it wasn't going to be a full time gig

I saw him at the Marietta/Warren game and he was in the stands talking to Coach Colgrove's husband and setting beside the AD from Marietta. He does live in the Warren district and has been to several games both boys and girls the last few years.

Well according to Ohio revised code he must be board approved to sit on the bench and participate in practices. So I would doubt that he is just showing up and sitting on the bench working with kids.

12/14:

Rosecrans 8 19 9 15 -- 51
Marietta. 6 12 15 7 -- 40

I really like the way Rosecrans plays basketball, for each of the last 3 seasons. This game Molly Nash scores 33, including the first 15 for Rosecrans, and herself totaling 21 in the first half, three more than the Tigers. Defense was too much for the Tigers, and even apparently affected their free throws as they only made 5 of 13. Well officiated game.

I can assure you all is above board as far as having all the proper credentials. It still does not change the fact that it is occasionally showing up.

Marietta 31 @ Zanesville 53

The Tigers fell out of contention early, trailing 22-4 after the first quarter. They are now 4-3 with all the losses coming to teams who remain undefeated.

River View 5 9 15 14 0 4 -- 47
Marietta. 16 12 11 4 0 1 -- 44

http://www.coshoctontribune.com/article ... tta-44-2OT

Marietta played really, really well the first 1/3 of the game taking a 28-9 lead, but only scored 16 points the last 2/3. Five players scored in the 1st qtr and a 6th scored the first 4 points on the 2nd qtr. Just couldn't quite nurse it home. Several late turnovers and key miss on the front end of the 1 and bonus. Daugherty was 8/8 at the line and a great passer, including the game winner to Gibson. One too many times Marietta made her miss in close but then she got the put-back and the foul.

Daughtery is tough! Tough game for the Tigers, but one that may benefit them hopefully.
