Re: Portsmouth West Girl's basketball coach?
As of last week the Superintendent said the job was still open. Its a good job with good talent in the system. Middle school is also open and they are waiting until the high school is filled first.
As long as the middle school coach from the last few years doesn't get it by default, we should be fine.

Greg's new job has taken him in a new direction. Those shoes won't be easy to fill cause he has raised the bar for Girls basketball on the west side. I for
one hated to see him go! He accomplished goals no coach before him has done and we all wish him the best in his future endeavors!

Well give us a hint.
I'd like to see Phil Ridout apply. Think he'd do a good job.

Is'nt it a little late to be hiring a coach?? Or not to have one in place to work with the girls? WOW!
Re: Portsmouth West Girl's basketball coach?
What about Tyson Phyllips? He's experienced and a West alumn. Doesn't have much talent in the system at Portsmouth. Would have a much better opportunity at West to win.

Do you honestly think he would up and leave phs and go to west at this late a date? That's not going to happen.
Re: Portsmouth West Girl's basketball coach?
Yes if West offered him the job he would take it. Anytime you get a chance to coach for your alma mater you should do it. Do I think they will offer it to him no. I dont think the school will openly pursue anyone they will pick from who applies.

Re: Portsmouth West Girl's basketball coach?
Another site is reporting the PDT announced West hired a female from New Boston, Kayla Wiley that just graduated from SSU , Played under Coach Hagen Smith ... Seems like a big gamble to me to hire someone with no coaching experience. I'm guessing her age is no more than 22 or 23 ? Report stated there were 2 other finalist for the job.
