Nope. Man to man. Tried trapping a few times at first but then just man. Lost by 7 or 8. This was kind of a sarcastic post because I've watched b ball my whole life and you foul in this situation every time in my opinion. At least fight for the win lol

Foul with 4:30 left? I wouldn't go that route, not with that much time left.

4:30 is way too much time to start fouling, especially down only 8. Play aggressive defense, force turnovers, make them pass the ball and play up the line with your hands in passing lanes. All it takes is a deflection and a steal and you're down two possessions with tons of time left?

I guess I didn't mean necessarily start fouling with 430 left. I was just kinda giving the jist of the situation. Weren't really playing aggressive either though. Just kinda chasing the ball around hoping for a turnover. At 230 left subbed all 5 girls and about the same. I actually heard them told not to foul. At some point it's just you're only chance to get the ball back if you're not getting turnovers. Game is still in reach is all I'm saying lol

When you are down in the 4th qtr....refs almost always allow you to up the pressure, be more physical and often even desperate in efforts to get back into it. Definitely up the pressure and with 8 point lead I start fouling around 1:45 mark.

Play very aggressive D, and if you foul, you foul. Can't be passive and let a team with an 8 point lead run more than a minute or so off the clock. An 8pt lead is fairly substantial in girls basketball.

How many fouls did the team who was behind have at this point

don't foul just to foul At least go after the ball. you might get a turnover

So all of you are saying that you should foul at some point if not getting any turnovers which we weren't and not just let 4 and half minutes run off the clock which we did. Any of the kids who were put in with 2 and a half minutes left and told not to foul had plenty of fouls to give if nothing else. Just accepted a close loss to a team who usually beats us by 40 instead of trying your best to shock the world and actually win lol
