Marietta last led this well played D1 NE district 38 team super sectional opener in Sutton gym by 44-42, but could not make enough plays and shots as their opponent went on a 10-0 run to take control at 52-44, and suffered the loss to Willoughby South, who had defeated Eastlake North (18-3) in their previous game. Marietta drained 10 treys and went 6/9 at the line, while Willoughby made 5 treys and was 7/7 at the line with only their starters scoring any points(14,13,13,12,4). Marietta had 6 different players score treys with 7 players scoring in total. Willougby South moves on to play at 4th seeded Uniontown Green on Thursday. The NE district has two 38 team D1 super sectionals that send 6 district winners to D1 regionals.
