Logan Lady Chiefs 2022-23

With the Logan School Board approving the hiring of Jeff Herchek as its new girls coach, the team can finally move forward into the a better direction than the crazy off season. Jessica Harris moved on after 4 seasons and a new coach was thought to be in place but then fell through before the hiring of Herchek.
Logan finished 9-14 last year losing to New Albany in the tournament. The Purple and White must replace 5 seniors led by outstanding guard Brooklin Harris as well as solid players Ella Guthrie, Alivia Magdich, Emaurice McKinney, and Caidence Goldsberry.
Logan will be led this season by Junior Mollie Landis and a really good sophomore group in Danika Mahaffey, Kinsey Myers, Josie Sigler and Makenzie Daubenmire — all of whom made varsity contributions in various roles last season.
Logan scrimmaged Liberty Union last night with Harvest prep and Liberty union, and the first 10 minute scrimmage against harvest prep was pretty slow with not much happening. Logan played much better the second time vs HP and played really well against Liberty union. Good movement without the ball and good rebounding. Also pretty good passing for the first scrimmage. All in all I’d give it a B+ for the night.
Logan will go to Jonathan Alder on 11/5 and will have other scrimmages with Big Walnut, Portsmouth, before opening the season with Hilliard Bradley.
Lady Chiefs see some good competition this season with several Central Ohio schools on the schedule as well as Circleville, Bexley, DeSales, Sheridan, Lancaster, Meigs, Fairfield Union and Jackson to name a few.
