Well my opinion Trojandon, Fairland has been really good over the last few years, buuuuuuut they have lost two 6 footers that were good.. all staters being that.. I’m not sure if they can compete now.. and the #1 ranked Trojans are ready to stake there claim for number 1!!!!!

Looking at the scores of the 2 teams thus far, Portsmouth's games have been lower scoring, while Fairland's are much higher scoring. How that plays out on Saturday remains to be seen, but I can speak from a PHS standpoint and say that the Lady Trojans put a heavy emphasis on defense. They have pretty much have used their quickness to force turnovers converting them to points. The Lady Trojans have had wins of 1 point over George Rogers Clark and 5 points over Shaker Heights Laurel, while the Lady Dragons' closest game was a 13 point win over Harvest Prep. Both have beaten common opponents handily.
This is round 1 of what should be a 2 team chase for the OVC title. Last season, the 2 teams won on their home court, and finished co-champions of the OVC.

Great game ahead but I just believe the Trojans have to many horses and are ranked number one for a reason.

Exactly, Trojan Dave. Either team could beat either. Looking forward to watching this!trojandave wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2024 10:51 am Looking at the scores of the 2 teams thus far, Portsmouth's games have been lower scoring, while Fairland's are much higher scoring. HUGE road win for the lady Trojans. Their defense gave the Dragons fits all game. Active hands, stepping into passing lanes, rebounding. Woods with a fantastic game for Portsmouth, she just keeps getting better and better. Fairland may not be quite as good as last year but they are a really good team, I expect them to show up and show out when they travel to Portsmouth. Congrats Lady Trojans, well earned double digit win!

Dominant road win for Lady Trojans. TOO many straight line basket drives. Fairland will get back to drawing board and be prepped for rematch.

Woods has been a factor since she started as a freshman, as we watched her in Jr. High we knew she was definitely going to start as a freshman on varsity.
So many things she does on the floor don't show up in the stats .
This entire team "bench included" is loaded with talent!
People have been down playing some of their wins ,but our girls keep proving over and over ,They are legit and they aren't afraid to tell anyone!! Love their confidence

Can’t believe they never switched to a zone. That was DEFINITELY needed.Gator B Long wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 5:52 pm Dominant road win for Lady Trojans. TOO many straight line basket drives. Fairland will get back to drawing board and be prepped for rematch.

Congratulations to our Lady Trojans on a convincing win over a very good Fairland Lady Dragons squad. The score doesn't indicate that PHS actually had almost a 25 point lead at one point. The Lady Trojans' calling card this season has been their defense, and once again it showed up in Proctorville. Now PHS has a leg up on an OVC championship, but they have to stay focused, healthy, and out of foul trouble. If those 3 things happen, their ceiling is as high as a state championship.
