Division V State Championship Portsmouth vs Creston Norwayne

1st time for both girls teams to be in State Championship. Norwayne took down Columbus Africentric so the Norwayne girls can play. Should be a great game.

Tough test for the Trojans, but they’ve played and beat better teams than Norwayne this season. Fairmont, Laurel, Fairland, Ashland, GRC and MDN all better than Norwayne. Lakota West & Minford may be as well. Now I know you can’t go by who you beat and who they beat but when you look at the schedules, the rankings and so forth I think Portsmouth could win this game by double digits. Norwayne’s best win just happened over AEC who isn’t as good as they were last year. I can feel a state championship coming to Portsmouth next Saturday!

I dont think Portsmouth will have much trouble with Norwayne , theyll be state champs real soon

One thing to remember. It's a seo team playing outside of seo. So I'll wait til they play the game and see. But I hope they win.

Portsmouth played outside the SE district during the season, with non-conference opponents Cincinnati Mt.Notre Dame, Shaker Heights Laurel, Lakota West, Kettering Fairmont, George Rogers Clark (KY), and Ashland (KY) twice. Laurel made the state in D4. This schedule was made with the purpose of preparing our girls for the goal of winning a state championship. That schedule has proven to be a big asset.
They are as they say "battle tested", but they will have to be on their game like they were against Fairland. Norwayne just beat the defending state champions, and they will be trying to win just as much as the Lady Trojans.
