Re: Minford vs Peebles
Peebles is coming off of a great year. Mudford will have trouble adjusting to playing on a real field, last couple of games were on a unplayable surface. What is peebles mascot??? To early for predictions yet.

Re: Minford vs Peebles
Minford will need to step it up in this one. You can only go so far when you rely on 3 or 4 skill players. The entire team will need to play well... that's where good coaching comes in. They can't afford any more poor decisions like the indirect kick in the box against South Webster. Still scratching my head on that one.
Anyway,
Go Falcons!

Re: Minford vs Peebles
Unless it is a major foul in the box it is indirect. Something like a hand ball, trip, or keeper pushing someone, would yield a direct kick( pentaly kick ). So Minford had a indirect kick not PK. So SW was allowed to put players ten yards away from the kick. Hope this clears it up.

Re: Minford vs Peebles
Kickin it,
Correct, it was an indirect (as I said). It was the correct call - dangerous play - therefore an indirect kick. But it should have been an easy Minford goal - one player taps the ball, the other buries it in the back of the net. They touched the ball and then dribbled to the corner flag. Their logic was to stall and drain more of the clock. However, they lost possession almost immediately. If they had scored a goal, the next 2 and a half minutes would have been irrelevant... game over. Whether it was the coach or the players calling that play, it was a very poor decision. They'll need to clean up their set pieces if they want to make a deep run this year. And I hope they do.

Wait, wait.... Are you saying that Minford had an indirect kick inside the box and didn't shoot the ball??? If so that makes no sense at all.

i was in attendance last night, and what slug is saying is true. they took the ball to the corner to stall. dumbest thing i've seen all year. i hope that it was a mental lapse from players on the field and not a play call from the bench, if so minford is in trouble. they still won in the end but DANG.

totally caught off guard by that decision. i had to watch the second half outside of the fence bc i got escorted out for "harassing the ref" (Center Official= BAD, needs to hang it up). even from outside the fence it looked like a poor call. if you cant put a shot anywhere in the net from less than ten yards out, you dont belong on the field.

LOL. If you can't keep yourself from getting kicked out of a game, you don't belong in attendance.bigbadwolf wrote:totally caught off guard by that decision. i had to watch the second half outside of the fence bc i got escorted out for "harassing the ref" (Center Official= BAD, needs to hang it up). even from outside the fence it looked like a poor call. if you cant put a shot anywhere in the net from less than ten yards out, you dont belong on the field.

Re: Minford vs Peebles
This is true instead of scoring a goal mudford dribbled out the side away from the goal. A player had charged the goal recklessly and the call was against SW instead of mudford. I thought it was great sportsmanship to not score on the call. Kind of like kicking the ball out on a injury.
Re: Minford vs Peebles
Yes we have a muddy field, but there is no reason what so ever to disrespect the school by saying mudford not just once but twice. Best of luck Minford Falcons in your District Championship against Peebles. Last meeting Minford lead 1-0 untill a few minutes left, the Indians scored on a penalty kick in the box.

Both goals were scored in the first half and Peebles didn't score off of a PK. They scored off of a header 10-20 minutes after minford scored

Maybe he was talking about the valley Indians not peebles? Or maybe it is all clear as mud. At least in his mind.
