The player did not make up his work in summer school. He only attended one session. It is an OHSAA violation. The other player did make up his time in summer shcool. It is unfortunate the team has to pay the price for this player. The AD should have been on top of this.
It is correct to say the team is unbeaten on the field. Good Luck in the rest of the season! Anything can happen, keep your heads up!

OHSAA rules state that a student/athlete cannot use summer school to gain eligibility for the upcoming season, call any guidance dept.
Re: Waverly FINALLY hires soccer coach
According to the 2009-2010 OHSAA guidelines "summer school grades may not be used to make up for failing grades or classes not taken".
If the above post is true---Waverly better check BOTH students.

The 2nd student, a JV player, was questioned bc of attendance policy only. It was confirmed that he in fact was eligible by the administration.

Re: Waverly FINALLY hires soccer coach
Not the 1st or the last time that this will happen. I'm sure it will be the last time for this group at Waverly, but I've heard of this happening at a few other schools and was part of a team that this happened to.
Best part of it, is that it was caught early on in the season and will not effect their tournament run and I'm sure if Coach Roseberry lets the other coaches know at the meeting, should not effect their seeding.
