Congratulations to all those who made it from the southeastern district! It's a great honor. ;)

Why is it that soccer does not give third team status and honorable mention? It really doesn't cost anymore to add some names at the bottom of the all state collection. Anyways, congratulations to all the first and second teamers.

They used to give first, second, third and honorable mention honors with 11 players on each 'team.'

But it was a lot of voting and tallying to get there. They cut out the third team more than a decade ago and went with 11 on first and second team and 22 on honorable mention. I think it was last year that they went to 18 players on first team and the rest on second team. It makes for a cleaner, quicker and less political voting. If you will note, they actually overall have more players on the teams now than they used to. I am not sure about the formula as it is not the same number of kids for each division.
