The 2010 will be the last for the Marietta Tigers soccer teams in the SEOAL. Mtta Girls should be the favorite as they return 9 of 11 starters from last years district champ team. On the boys side it will come down to Marietta & Chillicothe again.

Not sure about Chilly they lost a couple stud players and a goalie(I think). IMO it will come down to Warren and Marietta in what appears to be a down year league wide.

Never count out Warren. They're returning some defenders and maybe one player who missed last year. Coach always gets the best out of his players. The JV program is helping to prepare some of the younger players for varsity action and I expect that to pay off this year.

Marietta is always strong, same with Chili. I'd expect a these three teams to compete. I'm sure Marietta wants to end on a strong note.

The Marietta Lady Tigers just finished playing in the Adidas National Showcase Games in Strongsville, Ohio over the weekend. Lady Tigers ended up going 7-0-1 for the weekend, giving up only 1 goal(pk) for the weekend. The schedule:
Berea 1-0, Genoa 1-0, Midview 2-0, East Lake 1-0, Salem 1-0, Mt. Vernon 4-1, Chippewa 0-0, Zanesville 2-0. Great weekend for the Lady Tigers.

Although Chilli did lose a couple quality players, they always have a strong team as a whole. They should do well, even without any real standout players.

Marietta also lost a few quality players, but I'm not so sure the overall team will be as strong. They've always somewhat been a "team" of nothing but individuals. Yes, they will be competitive, but no I don't believe they are potential District Champs this year.

I haven't seen any of these teams play yet, but judging on last year, I would look for Warren to be a real contender this year. If I'm not mistaken, they lost two strong field players, as well as a keeper, but returning 8 out of 11 starters isn't a bad situation to be in.

Pele,

I will agree with you on that Warren should be a strong team but don't discount Marietta. One of these two should win the league title and possible top seeds in the sectional draw. Which school can play as a team will decide who comes out on top in my opinion.

gallipolis off to fast 2-0 start. beat south point early in week and ovcs last night. Team looks good i am sure there is much harder competition coming but this team may surprise a few people this year.

Warren MENS Soccer Team downs chilli with a 3-1 win.
They are a threat in the SEOAL, so do not count them out.
