Trapp's Summer High School Soccer League
Trapp's Summer High School Soccer League
Beginning June 10-July 15th
Every Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Earl Thomas Conley Park (Shawnee State practice facility)
We plan on putting players on teams each week. Depending on the numbers. (Follow FIFA rules and OHSAA rules and regulations)
$10.00/player each week (that way we don't have to worry about vacation schedules and a team having to forfeit games) or $50.00 for entire league (5 weeks)
There will be two full fields 11v11, if we need a third I'll put one in.
30 minute halves, and then depending on number of players we can switch you to other fields to play different teams.
Each player may be issued 2 t-shirts to wear each week, one light and one dark, or I may just use vests, still working on that one.
This is a co-ed league, high school players only who are able to participate for the 2010 season. Any high school player can play!
Each team will be coached by a player from the SSU roster. High school officials will be used if available, if not the league will provide referees.
Being a former high school coach I understand if a coach doesn't want to use his days during summer leagues, so this is a way for players to get ready for the season.

i think this would be cool if you had league for older people than still want to play. i know i could prob get 5-6 people that would want to play

Working on that one. Trying to decide when a good day is, with people working it would almost have to be a Saturday or Sunday.
It would be neat to have full uniforms and call it "The Champions League"
Finding enough for 11 v 11 games could be tough.

Re: Trapp's Summer High School Soccer League
Once rosters are set, do we need to purchase shirts? Anything else neccesary to play?
Re: Trapp's Summer High School Soccer League
Well it does start after track ends but I am out of town for at least two of those weeks. (I do take a vacation once a year...)
Re: Trapp's Summer High School Soccer League
We have vests to start out with. Once we know how many are signed up I will order t-shirts for everyone. Won't take long at all to get the shirts in.
Hey Doc, any chance on running this in the Scioto Voice, I am going down later this week to WNXT and Daily Times.

Have received a lot of positive response from coaches and players. I hope we can keep it going every year.

Is Earl Thomas Conley park close to Portsmouth west High school??
Re: Trapp's Summer High School Soccer League
Yes, you will see the soccer fields in the back. Use the road that has the Radio Flyers Association sign.
