Re: Southern Ohio Conference Preview
Joe over Eastern,New Boston over West, Burg over Valley, North West over Clay, Minford and Webster is a tough call for me Webster is very well coached but lost a lot to graduation, Minford has more tallent but also a new untested coaching staff. I will go with Minford in a close one.

Re: Southern Ohio Conference Preview
Thats definitely not the same West team as last year. They led for half of the game before they gave it up late.

Re: Southern Ohio Conference Preview
Didn't get to see Eastern & St. Joe
Northwest looked much improved. A solid defense for sure, and a 3-0 win says something for their offense.
Clay seemed to be trying some good things, but mistakes really hurt them.
Minford has a few key players that stood out. Their defense & gk didn't get challenged much so it's hard to tell the full extent of their team.
South Webster also made some mistakes & lacked much on offense. The basic structure seemed to be there but they couldn't keep it together on defense.
Wheelersburg has a few key players that play well (kind of like Minford). I was surprised that they only scored one, but they had many opportunities. Their defense didn't get a lot of pressure until later in the half when some subs were in.
Valley seemed to hold up alright. They still look to have quite a few young players out there mixed in with the returning players who did some good things
Didn't see New Boston & West
It looks like the SOC I will be up for grabs this year as all the teams try to take the championship from South Webster who has had it for 8 consecutive years.
In the SOC II it will be a battle between Minford, Wheelersburg, & Waverly. I'd have to favor Waverly, but Minford & Wheelersburg have always played them well. Northwest could be a team that plays into the mix - maybe not to win it, but help decide who wins
It's going to different with the games across the divisions not counting this year too.
Good luck all teams

Re: Southern Ohio Conference Preview
Having seen Minford, Wheelersburg, and Waverly in the preseason, I'd be shocked if Waverly doesn't run away with the SOC II. They're a cut above the other teams this year.
Re: Southern Ohio Conference Preview
I think Eastern will be the surprise this year.
In a scrimmage, they beat Piketon 7-2.
They tied with South Point 1-1 in an actual game I believe.
Then today they defeated Adena on the road 9-2.
