South Webster vs. Minford
Re: South Webster vs. Minford
Any defender besides the goalie using his hands to block a shot inside the box is given an automatic red card. This is because the act greatly diminishes the integrity of the game.

There has been a slight change in this rule beginning this season.B1OHIO wrote:Any defender besides the goalie using his hands to block a shot inside the box is given an automatic red card. This is because the act greatly diminishes the integrity of the game.
In the past if a defender intentionally used his hands in attempt to block a shot, a red card was issued and a penalty kick was given to the attacking team. This was whether the ball went into the goal or not.
The rule for this year states that if a defender intentionally uses his/her hands in attempts to block a shot and the ball goes in the goal anyway, the defender will receive a yellow card and the goal stands.
If a defender intentionally attempts to block a shot and the ball does not go in the goal, the defender will receive a red card, and the attacking team will have a penalty kick.
Hope that makes sense...
